“Excellent Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

We've just returned from this hotel, we arrived on Friday 11th July travelling with my husband and my sister and her husband to celebrate my sisters birthday. the Hotel is in an excellent position just two minutes walk to one end of La Ramblas at the Catalonya square end. the check in was very quick and efficient and the reception staff were very friendly. Our rooms were on the 4th floor and were very well appointed the beds were huge and very comfortable with beautiful white linen. The only thing this hotel lacks is tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms This would be a huge asset.
The roof top terrace bar is really good it not just a little overpriced. We would definately return to this hotel

Dear 50minsinreception,
Thank you for your great review!
We'll shortly install tea & coffe making facilities in all the rooms. This is something that our guests have been asking for, so it will be an extra in the coming future.
We look forward to welcoming you back to a Pulitzer property, whether here in Barcelona or in Paris and Buenos Aires!
Best regards and muchas gracias!

I travelled with a group of 6 ladies beginning July 2014. The location of the hotel was excellent. Rooms were very clean and equiped with a mini bar, hairdryer and safe, along with a bath robe, slippers and toiletries. The only thing missing for us was a kettle and tea/coffee.
Breakfast was good, although not a huge selection, it was suficient to satisfy us. The freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious.
The rooftop terrace was the best point of the hotel. The surroundings were amazing and was suited to large groups of friends as well as couples. Drinks were on the expensive side, but worth it for the comfort.
The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. We were advised on restaurants and discounts on the hop on tour buses. Nothing was too much trouble for them
I would definately stay again if I visit Barcelona.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the building with small balcony are lovely

This hotel has one of the best locations for central Barcelona. Directly across from the the Placa de Catalunya where the tourist buses and the airport buses leave from. Right at the top end of La Rambla (the main street is overrated in my opinion, but the little side streets are fantastic, so step into them).
The staff are friendly and welcoming and helpful. One slight disappointment with the rooftop terrace when we visited as it took quite a long time to get served and there didn't seem to be enough serving staff (the cocktails were excellent though).
Rooms are a decent size for a city centre hotel and were kept very clean by the staff. Had a room at the front with a balcony which was great. There is some external noise from the bin lorries emptying bottle bins etc and folk making their way home or back to other hotels, but a pair of soft earplugs sorted that out.
Had breakfast in the hotel each morning. Breakfast is good quality and self service, so you can have what you want. If I was going to make a recommendation on this it would be to add a little more variety to the cooked options - perhaps varying it on alternate days.
The hotel lobby and ground floor bar area is very comfortable and spacious. Loved the library feel in the back with a range of books sitting on shelves which you can read whilst you sip a drink or have a meal. Arrived quite late on the first night, but were still able to order a bar meal which was very tasty and served by the very friendly barman.
Overall, would I stay there again in future? Yes, I would.

Dear David,
Thank you for your detailed review!
Could you tell me when you went up on the rooftop terrace to enjoy your cocktails? We'll check what happened that made the service be slow.
We'll also revise the hot options on breakfast. Thank you for your suggestions!
Best regards and muchas gracias!

From the moment we checked in, our stay at Hotel Pulitzer was amazing. The location was perfect. Walking distance to sites, great restaurants and shopping. For the price, the hotel was extremely comfortable, the staff was welcoming and helpful and the decor of the hotel room and lobby was very contemporary, yet warm and elegant. We would highly recommend the hotel and would definitely go back!!!

We ate on the terrace whiles listening to live music. Its a oasis of green plants and coziness in the middle of the city centre. If you go on Wednesdays there is live music. Great little bites and the wine list wouldn't disappoint!

We have just travelled as a group, staying three nights at the Hotel Pulitzer. It was a real 'delight' from start to finish. The location was perfect, being situated along a quiet street, just 50 yards from Placa de Catalunya. Although so close to the busy La Rambla, remarkably, there was hardly any street noise at night We had rooms at the front of the hotel, therefore we were fortunate to have a balcony. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, The staff were very friendly, and the service received was exceptional. The breakfasts were good, and there was a pleasant outdoor courtyard area, adjacent to the dining room. The rooftop terrace bar was stunning. It had lots of tropical plants and a variety of extremely comfortable seating areas. A great place to start or finish your evening with a drink. All in all, we could not fault this hotel, and we would not hesitate to return. Thanks for making our stay such a memorable one. :-)...
