Modern style with a great lobby bar and a fantastic roof garden. The rooms a very small but nice. People are friendly but don't expect them to go out of their way to help you. The gym and spa is 3 blocks away.

My partner and I frequently spend 1 or 2 nights away from our home in Sitges in Barcelona for shopping, etc. So we have stayed at a variety of hotels in BCN. We've generally avoided the area around Plaza Catalunya because of the tourist crowds in the summer -- and usually similarly high prices in peak-season. We found a very reasonable price for a night and thought we'd try it.

Not disappointed - a lovely, clean, appealing hotel. Location perfect for a first time visitor to the city -- access to all transportation, the Bari Gotic and Ramblas a short walk away, directly north the prime high-end shopping strip, Passeig de Gracia and two landmark Gaudi buildings that merit everyone's itinerary. Many restaurants, though one should be choosy - as ground zero for tourism, this area is not the best of BCN's cuisine; but lots of great bars, etc. in Bari Gotic/Born area.

Although located in the thick of it, the hotel sits on a relatively quiet side-street with little traffic -- so should be no issues with noise, etc. We had a 3rd floor room with balcony facing street and no problem. Staff courteous, well informed etc. Rooftop bar area is lovely - we didn't try the facilities (gym, pool) which are not on-site, but require a walk we were told of about 7 min. away - but they look great. Appealing bar in hotel lobby and on-site restaurant looked attractive (we did not dine there). Only negative comment, if that, is room was on the smaller side -- a bit of a peculiar, very narrow width - fine for a couple of days, I might have gotten a bit cramped if we had stayed 3, 4 etc. -- but there was plenty of closet space, etc. to unpack if you're staying longer.

Overall we'd choose this hotel again and enjoyed our stay. 4 stars because it's simply not a 5 star property, though I can't fault the service, value and excellence of what it offers.

Parking is available directly under the Plaza at a discounted rate of E25/day with a stay at the hotel - pricy, but par for the course in BCN; street parking a nightmare.

This is a very nice modern hotel but the facade is historic looking which we liked very much. The room was large and spacious and so was the bathroom. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they have free tours of the Gothic area twice a day. It is very close to Placa de Catalunya and the tram and bus to the airport. It is right off of Las Ramblas, the main street of Barcelona, but it is on a small side street which was quiet.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband from the 8th to 11th of July. We had a great stay, this hotel is a little gem! We found the hotel quite easily once we found the Placa Catalunya, it really is in a fantastic location, surrounded by lots of bars, restaurants and shops. We checked in very easily and then went to our room (114) on the first floor. The room was lovely, not the height of luxury but very comfortable. Very nice bathroom which had obviously been designed by a woman as there was lots of space to put make up and toiletries and a magnifying mirror with good light! A big bonus in my book! Our room faced the back of the hotel with a huge rooftop area (not a terrace as it was full of air conditioning units etc and wasn't particularly nice but if you wanted to stand out there you could). However, we didn't spend any time looking out of the window so it didn't matter. The beds and linens were really nice, no complaints there. The room was lovely and quiet and a nice oasis at the end of a busy day. Breakfast was very good, freshly squeezed orange juice and home made yogurt, very nice! Small range of foods but what was there was top quality, excellent breakfast. Only problem we encountered was poor service at the rooftop bar. We waited about 15 minutes to be served then left. Not a problem, we went elsewhere for our drink but it was not satisfactory. We really enjoyed our stay in Barcelona, it is a stunning city and would definitely come back to the Pulitzer if we return. For the price we paid for our room I think the quality was outstanding.

The first week of July, we had our wedding on the rooftop terrace and it was spectacular! I could not have had a better location as we only had slightly more than fifty guests. The terrace is well designed, the service was superb, the food was great. Silvana was patient and very helpful with all of our requests. Thank you for making the event very special.

We've just returned from this hotel, we arrived on Friday 11th July travelling with my husband and my sister and her husband to celebrate my sisters birthday. the Hotel is in an excellent position just two minutes walk to one end of La Ramblas at the Catalonya square end. the check in was very quick and efficient and the reception staff were very friendly. Our rooms were on the 4th floor and were very well appointed the beds were huge and very comfortable with beautiful white linen. The only thing this hotel lacks is tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms This would be a huge asset.
The roof top terrace bar is really good it not just a little overpriced. We would definately return to this hotel

I travelled with a group of 6 ladies beginning July 2014. The location of the hotel was excellent. Rooms were very clean and equiped with a mini bar, hairdryer and safe, along with a bath robe, slippers and toiletries. The only thing missing for us was a kettle and tea/coffee.
Breakfast was good, although not a huge selection, it was suficient to satisfy us. The freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious.
The rooftop terrace was the best point of the hotel. The surroundings were amazing and was suited to large groups of friends as well as couples. Drinks were on the expensive side, but worth it for the comfort.
The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. We were advised on restaurants and discounts on the hop on tour buses. Nothing was too much trouble for them
I would definately stay again if I visit Barcelona.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the building with small balcony are lovely
