“Superb Hotel in the heart of Barcelona”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

Terrific hotel in the heart of Barcelona. Crisp, Clean, Contemporary with all the bells and whistles you would want including a large well-equipped room with excellent air-conditioning, bedding, bathroom and towels. Extremely clean with a roof top pool area that is well-furnished with lounge chairs, towels etc etc...Not inexpensive but a superb value for what you receive which includes very helpful front desk personnel.

I would recommend staying here! The rooftop pool was great to decompress at the end of the day. Breakfast was also great! The room offered everything we needed. The consierge service wasn't the best, but I did get where I needed to go.

We stayed in July 2013 for a few nights as part of our honeymoon. We'd just come from Italy so found hotels in Spain to be refreshingly cheaper in comparison, the Hotel Jazz was great value for money. Location was fantastic, right near Plaza Catalunya (can get the airport bus to/from here), and the Universitat metro stop right on the corner. Las Ramblas, La Boqueria is just a walk away.
The metro though in Barcelona is fabulous (I am from Australia, we have terrible public transport), and you can get just about anywhere you want to very easily.

We booked a standard Jazz Room which was located on the 6th floor, we were a fair way from the elevator and didn't notice any noise at all. Wifi worked well the whole time and was free. Our room was clean, tidy and modern with comfortable pillows and beds. The beds were two singles pushed together to make a king but we didn't find this a problem.
We went up to the rooftop bar for a drink once, which was nice, the pool area was extensive with comfortable seating but was packed out being summer and with incredibly hot weather everyone at the hotel seemed to be utilising the pool.

We didn't partake in the breakfast at the hotel, so cannot comment but to say its an unnecessary expense, there are so many places to grab coffee and churros nearby why not venture out for breakfast!
There is so much shopping nearby also - major brands and large stores are all in walking distance. The only problem we found was there were virtually no laundromats in the nearby area (we werent paying for expensive hotel laundry), we had to jump on to the metro a few stops to find one.

Room Tip: Get a higher up room away from the elevator, ours was very quiet.

This is in the center of Barcelona. Walking distance to Plaza Catalunya, La Rambla, Boqueria, Passeig de Gracia and even Gaudi's Casa Batllo and La Pedrera. Shopping and dining is everywhere from the moment you step out of the hotel - Zara, Mango, Pull & Bear, Bershka, Camper, Sephora, El Corte Ingles, Apple Store, Desigual, Toshop, Stradivarius, Celio, Promod, H&M, Starbucks, McDonald's and a long list of other Spanish restaurants and cafes within the main and side streets. The two major tax refund centers are also near - Global and Premier.

The staff at the reception are all so helpful and check in and check out is hassle free. The rooms are big enough and the bathrooms are modern. Wifi is everywhere and free. Good food selection at breakfast.

A great hotel very close with almost all the attractions in Barcelona. The rooms are spacious and on the roof you have a small swimming pool where you can relax and sunbathe. The buffet is in the morning is good and you have a great choice.

Just returned from our annual trip to Barcelona. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times now and each time our stay is fab. We had an early morning flight so were at the hotel for around mid day but this was not a problem as a room was ready. We have stayed on the 5th & 6th floor before and this time we were on the 4th floor. We were a little apprehensive as thought we might get some metro noise but we didn't. We had room 403 and there was no metro noise at all but when stayed on the higher floors before we had some slight noise from the metro. I would therefore recommend that you request a room facing Hotel Inglaterra to avoid metro noise. Check in and out was very quick. All staff are polite and friendly. The rooms are also well cleaned each day. We won't stay anywhere else and would recommend this hotel to all. It's a quiet haven close to the centre of the city.

Very close to La Ramblas. Hotel clean and quiet but close to everything. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. Also reasonably priced. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
