“Hotel at MWC event”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

Hotel was clean, well managed and staff were incredibly helpful. The location was not the best in terms of going to the MWC Fira Gran Via as you get caught up in the morning traffic but metro is another option and was not too far. It is also a little outside the main hub of the city so is a walk to La Rambla but if you have the time, the walk is quite nice. Food is standard, good quality and nice range available. I would recommend this if you were looking to stay in this area. The hotel is also quite near the Sagrada Familia and in a safe area.

Stayed here for one night after a 7 night cruise and was pleasantly surprised.

We arrived too early to check in but the reception staff were very friendly and offered to store out luggage. Also gave us a map and some tips on where to go. Sagrada Familia was just around the corner (approx 5-10 mins) and Las Ramblas was about 20-25 minutes walk.

After a day exploring the beautiful city of Barcelona, we went back to the hotel for a lovely hot bath and a very comfortable nights sleep. The room itself was spacious and clean. Breakfast the next morning was lovely and offered a great selection.

I think we paid around £70 for the night which was amazing value. For that sort of price in such a good location, you tend to lower your expectations but this hotel far exceeded mine. Would definitely stay again (and have, in fact, since recommended to several people visiting Barcelona).

Only drawback was the location in that there wasn't anything close by in terms of restaurants or shops. But actually the stroll to find somewhere was quite nice so it wasn't really a problem.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel while travelling through Spain. The hotel was in a nice area and the staff were friendly. The room was slightly bigger than some of the other rooms we stayed in while in Europe. Our bathroom was also spacious with a separate tub and shower. Overall, both the room and hotel were clean and it was a good value. I would recommend trying to get a room with a view of the outside rather than the inside hallway.

I booked this hotel on a business trip as I needed to go to el Vallés every morning by taxi, east of Barcelona, but at the same time wanted to stay in the city centre. The staff was very kind and helpful. Correct rooms.

Initially the reason i chose this hotel was its closeness to the start area of barcelona half marathon. However after staying, i would like to stay at this hotel anytime i visit Barcelona. Room was spacious and clean. The staff were helpful and attentive. Hotel is in easy access to most well-known places for those who like to discover the city by walking. The Wi-fi signal was at times weak.

My partner and I and another couple spent 1 week at the end of November 2013 touring Barcelona with a home base in the Hotel Ayre Caspe. This was my fifth visit to Barcelona and my first time in the Hotel Ayre Caspe. Given the number of different Barcelona hotels which I have stayed in over the years, I do have some perspective for comparison. The Hotel Ayre Caspe offers a perfectly fine Barcelona stay and a good value for the cost.

The minor disadvantage to this hotel is its location. It is located in more of a business like district and not in the prime tourist area. Therefore guests who are visiting Barcelona as tourists will walk a bit further than with other hotel choices. The other disadvantage to not being located around more tourist attractions is that restaurant options around the hotel are fewer than in other locations. So, going to dinner is typically by a long walk or a taxi rather than through strolling the neighborhood around the hotel and selecting interesting dining options encountered walking in the neighborhood around the hotel. In the neighborhood around the hotel, however, there are a number of very nice pastry shops which provide fantastic sandwiches, pastries, breads and coffee for those interested in finding economical and good breakfasts within a few blocks of the hotel.

The advantages of the hotel are that the stay is provided at a very reasonable price, the rooms are perfectly fine and the hotel’s staff is very friendly and accommodating. I particularly like that the bathrooms have both a shower and tub. The hotel rooms do not have irons. We requested to have some clothes ironed and the service was provided with the clothes returned within less than two hours, a service which was provided at a very reasonable cost. A tip for today’s traveller who travels with a number of devices which need charging (e.g., smart phone, laptop, ipad and camera)…the electrical supply to the room is activated by insertion of the room key once inside of the room. Therefore, when guests leave the room, their devices will not be left charging unless a additional card key is left behind to allow continued power supply to devices while the guest is away.

The rooms’ accommodations are on par with other Barcelona medium-high end range hotels while provided at a lower costs. Considering that we were not in the room for most of the day, when the final hotel bill came at the end of our week’s stay, I was happy with the large savings provided by our stay at the Hotel Ayre Capse. If travelers are prepared to add a little extra walking time to their daily outings, this hotel is a good value.

Dear Byron

We're very pleased reading your exquisite review! Thank you so much! Specially coming from a Barcelona's regular visitor! Even the disadvantages are being explained so well; it's very helpful to other guest's perspective and expectation. The neighbourhood is very quiet, and we have an amount of public transport to allow everyone to move around the city.

Please feel free to contact us for anything you might consider necessary, even for future reservations, we'll be pleased to welcome you once more!

Ayre Hoteles wishes you an awesome new year's eve and a happy new year!

I do not have one critisicm for this hotel. The staff was wonderful. The front desk, house keeping, and kitchen staff were great. Room was big ang had great closet space so we could actually unpack for once in our long trip around Spain. Worth every penny. Stand up separate shower was first one we had and I missed them so much!
Breakfast was great. Nespresso machine was a real treat.
