I spent 3 nights there with my girlfriend during an unfortunate rain period in Barcelona. We were staying in the Gaudi room, and it is great: full of classy details in modernisme style, it is clean and comfortable, private bathroom with big shower and private balcony with a closed but in the end romantic view. The service is awesome, and the breakfast is complete and abundant.
The position is perfect for lovers of modernisme, in the eixample district, a few meters from casa battlò and la pedrera; just 1 or 2 metro stop from the gothic barri.
Only note: we didn't sleep that well in the bed, but it is probably a matter of personal sensibility.

A romantic botique b&b absolutely recommended for weekends in Barcelona!

Dear guest, thanks for spending your time in this opinion. You are very kind. We regret that you have not been able to sleep well in our suite Gaudí and we would like to know more exactly why, as the comfort of our beds is of primary interest to us. The B & B is only in operation for five months and therefore spring mattresses (not foam or latex) are new and all our sheets are of Egyptian cotton.

My husband and I spent three nights at the Quadrat D'Or and found it wonderful in every way.
Here's a list of why we found this a great place to stay...

- Attentive, helpful service from hosts Joan and Angeles. This began even before we arrived in Barcelona. Angeles sent several very thorough, detailed messages to help us plan what to see and do during our visit.
- Ideal location. It's one block to the Renfe station to take the train to the airport, and 3 blocks to the metro. 10 minute walk to La Sagrada Familia, and a 5 minute walk to the Gaudi houses, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. And just about a 10 minute walk to the Barri Gotic. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and full of beautiful modernist buildings.
- Spacious, comfortable room. We chose the Gaudi room, which has plenty of space, a beautiful tiled floor, decorative fireplace and private balcony/terrace with a view of a quiet courtyard. There is a church in the courtyard, and Joan said he hoped the bells tolling wouldn't disturb us. We did hear them, but it was a pleasant sound and not at all disruptive - we liked it.
- Good breakfast. We had fruit, bizcocho, toast with assorted spreads, tomatoes, juice and meat and cheese. On our final day, we had to leave too early even to eat breakfast, so Joan gave us a to-go meal of sandwiches, fruit and cookies, which we very much appreciated on our trip.
- Excursions! We had considered going to visit the monastery on the nearby mountain of Montserrat, but were discouraged because getting there by train was very time consuming. But Angeles told us that Joan could drive us there, getting us there in only 40 minutes instead of the 2 1/2 hours that the train would have required (each way!). We did this on the day that we arrived from the USA. Even though we were exhausted from jet lag, we found the trip extremely worthwhile. The views from the mountains are extraordinary, the cathedral is beautiful, and we also had one of our favorite meals of the entire trip there.

I stayed at Quadrat D'or for a weekend away with my husband. We were arriving on a late flight but this was no problem for owners. They accommodated us throughout our trip and Angeles could not have been nicer. My Spanish is very poor but thankfully Angeles spoke great English and could help us with any directions we needed.
We stayed in the twin (though beds are together) with private locked bathroom outside of room. All fixtures in bathroom and bedroom were brand new and spotlessly clean. The balcony had a great view of the church, even in 5 degrees we insisted on eating breakfast on it to take advantage.
Having never stayed in a b&b before were worried we would feel like we were entruding on someones house. However, the two bedrooms are situated together behind doors just off the main entrance so we felt like we were staying in a beautiful serviced apartment instead.
The Continental breakfast was good, with a selection of meats, cheese, breads, jams, cakes and juices. The tassimo coffee machine had better coffee than most 4star hotels. The owners include nice touches like chocolates and a robe in your room.
The b&b is located in a residential area with several bars and restaurants within two minute walk. Passeig de gracia is only four blocks and the direct train to airport is only two blocks. The major sites and areas can all be reached within about 15 minute walk or from the metro around corner.
We arrived from el prat t2 by taxi (€30) as didn't realise the train was so close to the b&b. Buy a t10 travel ticket (under €10) in airport and get the train to passeig de gracia. It takes less than 30minutes but be careful to take the correct exit or you may have a longer walk.
I marked value down to a 3 as the last night of our stay overlaped with the mobile world conference. During this time accomodation is full and therefore marked up, our room price doubled for this night. €140 pn is not good value but appears below average for barcelona during the conference.
Overall the b&b is very good and I recommend staying.

I was looking for a nice and quiet bed & breakfast for my stay in Barcelona. And Quadrat d'or was an excelent choise. This B&B is very near from the city center so is well comunicated. I could work in perfect conditions with a big table in my room and an excelent free Wifi.

The bed is really confortable and the owners are very kind. Their breakfast service is excellent and the rooms were very clean.

Room Tip: The room has a good bathroom and a nice terrace.
