If you are visiting the Plaza Espanya and/or the MNAC (museum of Catalan Art), then I’d advise that you visit Las Arenas afterwards for the sheer fun of seeing a bull-ring that was converted into a shopping mall. As an animal-lover, I appreciated the idea of Las Arenas—Barcelona banned bullfighting! Here you can shop (nothing special, though), but do go to the top of the building for a nice view of the city. There are also inexpensive food options and clean bathrooms. I chose to stock up for my trip here on water battles and snack supplies at the inexpensive organic market on the bottom level. The metro is right outside the shopping center, so I was able to conveniently return to my hotel with loads of groceries--which saved me a lot of snack and water expenses during the trip. Tip: Miro Park is directly behind Las Arenas!
