“Perfect boutique hotel in the heart of Barcelona!”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

I have taken a big chance when booking this hotel as I booked it less than 12 hours prior to our arrival time in Barcelona.

The communication between me and the owner went so quick and I could not thank him enough for thinking about what will make us happy. Every staff in the hotel that we have met have made us feel welcomed in everyday.

Did I just say the rooms are fantastic? I had a big surprise when I saw the room. Very good value for money.

Definitely will come back to this hotel again. I've now found a home in Barcelona.

Good service and a great idea to have the hotel without a main front reception.
The best in this hotel is the location, all you need is just nearby.

Before you arrive you will get all you need by mail , also all you need around the hotel.

We will definitely recommend this place to others.

Charismatic & modern, with a whole lot of heart. This unique hotel is the type of hidden gem every traveller dreams of finding. I will most definitely be recommending to anyone I know visiting Barcelona.

By no means 'expensive' this small hotel ticks all the boxes. Quiet street, minutes walk from passieg de gracia, clean, modern & hassle-free

I booked our stay at the Casa Bella as a surprise anniversary gift for my partner. Pressure was on as I wanted the weekend to be perfect! Prior to arriving, I emailed the hotel & was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they responded. Jaume provided a large list of restaurants, all within 5 minutes of the hotel (most of which we went to & were superb!)

Having noted we were celebrating our anniversary Jaume offered to make a reservation for us at the restaurant of our choice (which we were greeted at with a complimentary beverage, again on the hotels behalf).
While at dinner, Jaume arranged rose petals throughout our room with a bottle of my partners favourite vodka (again, something that he had really gone out of his way to get for us prior to arrival). We returned to the room to also find a note suggesting we enjoy our vodka on the upstairs terrace - perfect!

I have done a lot of travelling over the past few years & never once taken the time to review a hotel, because they have always just been hotels.
Casa Bella for me, was an experience.
I met Jaume on the last day of our trip & couldn't help but give him a hug. The effort he'd gone to for us, complete strangers, was beyond exceptional.
His passion & energy are reflected in the hotel & I wish Casa Bella Gracia endless success.
Thankyou Jaume!!!

As a young couple we were quite nervous about staying in a hotel without a main front reception, however, upon arrival and meeting Jaume (one of the hotel's owners) we felt completely at home. He could not have been more helpful or accommodating.

Was incredibly impressed with the room, quite simple yet with a stunning piece of art behind the bed (as an art student this pleased me greatly!). The en suite was immaculate and decorated incredibly well.

Having done a city trip to Rome last year, we were aware of how much we'd be walking over our 3 night stay. We found the hotel a great base which was more or less in the perfect place for our busy list of things to do! About a 2 min walk to one of the busiest streets in Barca, filled with all sorts of shops and boutiques ranging from Tiffany, D&G, Valentino etc etc, right down to the high street shops such as Mango, Zara and & other stories. (This street also leads onto La Rambla, filled with lots of stalls and street art!)

Having the electronic keypad as entry to the hotel was a brilliant idea, saved us having to search for a key and not worry about losing one!! Felt super safe having a door within the hotel blocking off the main entrance and the actual rooms of the hotel too.

I'd reccomend a really good map, we used a Lonely Planet guide and heavily planned our trip prior to coming. But I'm sure Jaume would be more than willing to help you with any enquiries or suggestions!!

On our last day we weren't leaving until 7pm, so after check out (12pm) we placed our suitcases in the basement locker room where they were secure until collection. Again, Jaume was more than helpful when we asked him to book us a taxi back to the hotel.

Was a brilliant trip, and would 100% recommend people staying here!!! We would definitely return to this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: if you'd like lots of natural light, a room on a higher floor may be more ideal.

Even before we arrived, this hotel spoke to us in its clear and original way to provide easy instructions for our arrival. The location was good and despite being a small room, it was finished to a very high standard, particularly the en suite. Daily room servicing and an extremely quick sprint by the hotel manager to release us from the lift that we had unfortunately become stuck in would also earn this hotel an excellent service rating from me. Machines do fail but it was the way they fixed and apologised for the problem that turned it around. I would definitely stay again.

in September, I spent 2 nights in Casabella Garcia, all i wanted was a clean bed and good shower and i simply got what i wanted, it was a very small hotel, no staff, felt like completely alone, got a code by mail to use to open the outer door and room's door within the check in and out period ( after 03:00 pm and before 12:00 pm), also got another code in case i needed to leave luggage till room was ready ( they got a nice easy to use safe in the basement, its big enough for a suite case.

The room size was reasonable , comfy bed, got a kettle and small bottle of water. Shower was great , enough towels but the water had an strange oily feeling, was not sure why !!.

The room had a funny smell, i think they recently used some chemicals / disinfectants or something to clean the AC with and the smell was not gone yet ! did not like that !!

The AC was perfectly functional ( with the exception of the funny chemical smell) .

St Augusti st was a tiny side street, if you go right you will hit a main road that should take you to Diagonal metro station in 5 min walk, if you go left, this will take you to some back streets with some small shops where you can get some fruits, water, juice and some bakery ( less than 5 min walk to get you Banana).

This area is perfectly connected to every where, you simply go to Diagonal station 2 stops ( green L3) to Catalunia where you have the bus station of Aerobus heading to airport in 35 min and of course the beginning of La Rambla street. you can also walk the famous street with all Gaudi buildings from hotel to central plaza and La Rambla ( a relaxed 45 min walk).

internet connection was absolutely adequate

i hope you find this useful

Room Tip: try to avoid the ground floor, its a bit dark

This small place is on a nice street in a great neighborhood and recently opened as a hotel after a gut rehab of high quality. Rooms are modern, decent in size and well-outfitted. Bathroom was excellent. The place is designed to run without a desk clerk and basically does, with entry from the outside and to the rooms via keypads using your individual code. But the owner is on the premises, is friendly and helpful when help is required. Definitely a great buy at current prices for this neighborhood!

In mid-July 2013, there was construction going on nearby, but ending before evening. If this would bother you, it would be worth checking to see if that's still the case.
