“Unexpected pleasure”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2014

When someone mentioned a place that had not been open long, whose name was L'Eggs, and whose speciality was, well, eggs, we did have our doubts. But we went for it and ended up having a really enjoyable dinner. I was determined to try something eggy, given that it is their thing, but nothing on the egg bit of the menu really grabbed me. I ended up going for a cod omlette, with reservations. It was delightful, though. Mrs me and the nipper weren't attracted by the eggs and had more traditional meat and fish based dinners, but were also happy with their choices. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service friendly. Definitely worth a try if you fancy something a bit different.

“rude”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2014

as a large group on a stag do we were pleased to have a bar on our doorstop right outside our hotel. we started in l'eggs for 2 nights straight with some people eating but most drinking outside the restaurant, we were well behaved and not overly loud like some stag parties can be. we spent a lot of money and were their only customers for most of the early part of the day.

but when we attended the 3rd night for our first drink we were told to leave because we had fancy dress on. i understand that restaurants have a 'look' that they want to achieve and maybe they dont like fancy dress, but we only wanted 1 or 2 drinks to start the night and were being perfectly well behaved.

the waiter took our order and seemed happy enough with us being there. but then he returned to tell us that our appearance was not welcome there!

just to be clear. l'eggs is not any sort of upper class establishment and i have eaten at many nicer restaurants, but clearly they feel they are above serving a group of men on a stag do.

“Good but not wonderful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2014

I think this deserves a 3.5 rather than a 4 but anyway.

The food was fun. We particularly liked the Bone marrow with quail eggs and chilli - as the name would suggest if you don't like eggs then don't bother to turn up. We came across the place having been doing something of a Gaudi morning. You can be rather more conventional than that with plenty of hens eggs and more conventional accompaniments. Or even no eggs at all.

Not worth a detour but pleasant enough and the service was helpful enough although not much English spoken for the monoglots among us.

“Quirky, fun spot specializing in eggs of all kinds”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2014

We dined as a family of four (kids ages 8 and 10) and enjoyed our meal. The decor is fun and funky with a chic barnyard theme. The menu is eclectic with rarified dishes as well as classic omelettes and burgers. The wine list and cocktail list is good and overall the service is friendly without being intrusive. Portions are healthly but A fun sport in Gracia to check out for lunch or dinner.

“Not my favourite”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2014

Pricey and the eggs were too experimental for my taste. if you like a regular scramble or eggs benedict, don't come here. I felt that too much effort had gone into the concept rather than the food.
The decor, service, and dessert were good.
