We recently spent 5 night in this lovely, small hotel located in the Eixample barrio of Barcelona. We chose it based on the reviews posted on TripAdvisor and most of what we read prior to arriving at the hotel proved to be true once we entered our room. The hotel’s biggest advantages are the location and the frontline staff. The Eixample is conveniently close to the very centre of Barcelona yet far enough to be relatively free of tourists. There are tons of wonderful restaurants and coffee shops in the area and everything is pretty much walking distance. The staff at the hotel cannot do enough for you and are happy to help you with whatever you need. The guestrooms in Granados 83 are rather small and compact – we had a double with a balcony and while it was surely adequate for two people it would be a stretch to call it large. The bathroom was lovely and it was equipped with a huge walk-in shower which was which was great for us but may pose a problem for those who expect a bath-tub in a 4s-star hotel. The main issue with the room was the relative lack of storage space – whoever designed the rooms did not expect that people would be staying there for more than 1-2 nights. The bathroom lacked a proper towel rack/rail which prevented us from reusing our towels and being environmentally friendly as there was no room to dry them. The housekeeping seems to be the biggest issue in the hotel as we received different levels of service every day – sometimes the room was spotless, sometimes barely cleaned at all – regardless whether there was a tip waiting for the housekeeper or not. There was a dirty glass on the table waiting to be cleaned for two days – in the end I just washed it myself which is fine by me but unacceptable in a god hotel. Sometimes we got two chocolates on out pillow, sometimes only one, sometimes none at all – again, fine if you never give any at all, unacceptable if there is a lack of consistency. Still, apart from patchy housekeeping all was great and the hotel remains highly recommended to anyone looking for a great place to stay in wonderful Barcelona.

Loved the avant-garde/slightly Bohemian feel to the hotel. Multi-national guest list while we were there. Excellent front desk service throughout (in several languages)
Urban hotel food selections. Very small rooms...but loved the modern wall hanging in our room.

the hotel has a rather dark design chic, it depends on your taste. however, rooms are clean and nice value.

important to highlight is the kindness of the staff: my wife fell ill and the staff was so supportive and helpful like family. a good place for bad times

A great hotel right in the centre of Barcelona. Staff were really helpful giving excellent restaurant recommendations and advice. The room itself was exactly as described, modern with a New York loft feel to it. Will most definitely be returning in the near future.

Great service from the stuff, helped us a lot with any question. Room was very clean and quiet. A lot of coffee shops and bakeries just under the hotel so you can get breakfast in 2€.
Walk distance from La Rambla and downtown. 2 minutes walk from bus/metro station.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that not on the main street

We stayed at Hotel Granados for four nights in early April. The hotel and rooms were great - clean, modern and very comfortable. As well, the front desk staff were very friendly and accomodating throughout our entire stay. The hotel is located in a charming neighborhood within walking distance to many major attractions and there is a train station just a few blocks away that can easily get you anywhere in the city. We did not have any meals at the hotel and the rooftop terrace was either closed or rented for private events when we were there, but it looked quite nice. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Barcelona!

Beautifully designed with every detail carefully hidden but still there....Nice, tidy, clean, friendly and perfectly located. This hotel is an oasis in the big city and extremely romantic as well. The roof terrace is great. Did not try the breakfast.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
A superior four-star hotel located in the very heart of Barcelona, just a few minutes away on foot from Avinguda Diagonal and Passeig de Gràcia and surrounded by the city's best shopping area.Located in a former hospital from the last century, Carrer Granados number 83 was reconverted into an Art-Deco hotel establishment. Its rusted iron structure, reminiscent of the old lofts of New York’s Soho, contrasts with the stone and glass facade and with interior decoration of maximum minimalist elegance and more than a hint of Zen.Bright, elegant spaces are connected around a central patio with a skylight and a spectacular crystal covering, bringing together iron, brick, zebrawood and tamarind wood, natural leather and Thassos white marble. If you would like to stay in the centre of Barcelona and enjoy the city's most avant-garde architecture, don't hesitate to come to Hotel Granados 83.Services77 guest rooms: 5 single rooms, 6 Executive, 59 double rooms, 7 DuplexRestaurant 3G Bar8 Terrace BarBreakfast buffet24-hour room service and mini-barBusiness centreWi-Fi in all areasFunction rooms and spaces for events: Granados 83 room, multi-purpose space The Klub, 3 Restaurant, the patio of 3 Restaurant, poolside terraceOutdoor swimming pool and solariumGymParkingLaundry and ironing serviceSmall dogs allowed ... more   less
