“When the luxury is not the space...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

I usually associate luxury with space. If you like fancy lights, modern decoration, lots of amenities, bath robes and slippers, this is your hotel. If, for a comfortable stay, you prefer more square meters and a window with a view, then skip standard rooms in this hotel... Actually, our room window was overlooking the building lifts...
Funny that some comments talk about "swimming pool" on the top terrace... I would simply qualify it as a "pool"... if you try to swim, do it at your own risk...
Nothing to complain about breakfast, good in quality, assortment and quantity. Neither about hotel cleanliness, employees' availability or room quietness... Pitty the space...

Room Tip: Avoid room numbers ending with 3. These are internal ones (no views) and small ones

This is my second visit and I was very impressed like the first. They are incredibly generous with their toiletries and provide top quality products daily. I had to use both the printing and scanning service and found that they were very helpful and did not charge me for these activities. The room was spacious and well appointed.
All staff are very friendly and went out of their way to find out information for me. Also because of the location it made my stay very pleasant.

I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again when in Barcelona.

lovely modern hotel with its swimming pool+terrace
great suggestions (restaurant, information..) by the staff
rooms style very interesting (improvement: noise but it's only an improvement - not a bad dot).

Room Tip: 209 (direct access to a "semi private swimming pool) + 4 others only The classic swimming pool...

Just got back from a 3 night stay. The hotel has a modern, contemporary feel despite it being an old building. I loved the glass lifts running up through the middle, taking you to the top floor terrace/roof bar.
The staff were all friendly and helpful - they even gave us beach towels when we decided on a day of relaxation.
We succumbed to the breakfast but it was very good!
The only negatives for me relate to personal taste - we're used to natural coloured walls and lots of natural light at home so it was a bit too dark for our tastes. It was also too hot as the air con didn't seem to go below 23.5c. Didn't experience noise from next door rooms as I'd read on previous reviews.
Be aware that it's location is a good half hour walk from La Rambla but there's a metro not that far away.
Overall, I would stay there again.

We got there after a long drive from Valencia, and someone tried to hit us by stabbing one of the tires. Fortunately we have run flat tires. When we got to the hotel, on a Sunday evening the staff where extremely helpful. We are in our sixties, and one aspect we liked was that all the staff was young, but very professional

We stayed 3 nights in a family suite, esentially 2 rooms connected together with one being above the other. It also had a terrace with a lap pool shared by maybe 6 rooms. The hotel is on a quiet side street and has many cafe's to right of door and then 2 blocks over are many more cafe's. We ate to the right and reccomend La Tagliatella and Ramplax cafe next to WOW (WOW is a burger place, we wanted to eat here too) Easy walk to hop on hop off bus, shopping and walking to La Pedrera, Gaudi building. The hotel has a lobby bar which was not staffed, I assume someone would come over if they saw you go in, but it was awkward to me and I would have liked to go in a few times. There is a restaurant downstairs with ourtside court yard but we did not use it, due to all the cafe's on street and nearby. The lobby and hotel is very modern and the rooms were nice. My wife and I sayed on the upper level and 2 kids, 17 &19 stayed dwonstairs. The bathrooms have a lot of glass so beware if staying with not partner or family member. The doors are glass so you can look right in the bathroom. Not sure if all rooms are like this but it was not big deal for us kids just let each other know when their bathroom would be in use. From the outside the hotel has boutique look with nice lighting and I thought the rooms were very nice. I would stay here again.

This is a modern extremly clean hotel.
It doesnt feel as clinical as some hotels as the rooms are different to bog standard hotels.
Firstly a massive thank you to every single member of staff who couldnt do enough for us.
The hotel is spotless, the cleaners kept our room looking brand new.
The roof top pool is abit smaller than you imagine but seems most people go out to beach so we pretty much had it to ourselfs 80% of the time.
I could write how wonderful this hotel is a million times over but my advice is stay here.
Great staff
Great City
Great hotel..........
Just a note though no ironing boards or iron will be provided, laundry services provide but at a cost.
Not cheap atall.......
Other than that what a wonderfull place

Its rusted iron structure, reminiscent of the old lofts of New York’s Soho, contrasts with the stone and glass facade and with interior decoration of maximum minimalist elegance and more than a hint of Zen.Bright, elegant spaces are connected around a central patio with a skylight and a spectacular crystal covering, bringing together iron, brick, zebrawood and tamarind wood, natural leather and Thassos white marble. If you would like to stay in the centre of Barcelona and enjoy the city's most avant-garde architecture, don't hesitate to come to Hotel Granados 83.Services77 guest rooms: 5 single rooms, 6 Executive, 59 double rooms, 7 DuplexRestaurant 3G Bar8 Terrace BarBreakfast buffet24-hour room service and mini-barBusiness centreWi-Fi in all areasFunction rooms and spaces for events: Granados 83 room, multi-purpose space The Klub, 3 Restaurant, the patio of 3 Restaurant, poolside terraceOutdoor swimming pool and solariumGymParkingLaundry and ironing serviceSmall dogs allowed ... more   less
