“Three nights in Barcelona”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

My single accommodation was small and simple, almost school hostel style but clean and I did not need much else. WiFi however was on vacation most of the time except for a certain spot on my floor (fourth) which became my cyber lounge. Excellent location; near the metro, a street away from the Rambla and within walking distance to most important sights in Barcelona well as the beach.
Carmen was more efficient that her male counterparts and could assist with much more; she is eloquent, passionate and clearly takes pride in her job. Perhaps a good idea as concierge (male) not to advise guests on the estimated taxi cost to the airport (for the taxi you have booked for them) as +-30 Euro; imagine my surprise! when I was charged 48 Euro instead

Great hotel less than 100m from las ramblas. We had a room at the front with a small balcony and its was fine, double glazed sliding doors,so no noise from the street below even though we were there on wc final weekend!! Room was large enough for three single beds with plenty of wardrobe space.Bathroom was adequate though the bath is little more than a stand in shower unless you are three feet tall!! Towels were changed daily and the aircon was good.Staff spoke really good english and very helpful.Loved it! !!!

The location of his hotel is undoubtedly excellent, I expect the front of the hotel can be noisy due to this, we were in a room at the back and were lucky enough to have a big terrace / balcony, this was under the church tower, and this does bong every 15 mins throughout the day (not at night), but who goes away to sit in their hotel room all day?

The room itself was basic but was clean, as was the reception / lounge area. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. The room also had air con which was a huge bonus in July and this was included in the price. There is no bar area in the hotel but its not needed as the area is surrounded by bars and restaurants. (Acoma next door has a lovely terrace at the back, perfect for afternoon sangria) I also managed to find a good wi fi signal, not sure if this was the hotel's as it was "tornado."

All in all the price we paid for this hotel was excellent, basic but clean and in a very central area where you'd expect to pay more.

Room Tip: room 207 is at the back and has a terrace area, it overlooks a roof and a bell tower, so not the gre...

Hygiene should be a lot better! We actually had to ask to come and clean again. Especcially the bathroom. The bed is really hard.
We had a room on the front, which was really noisy (1 street from Las Ramblas)

The staff was friendly, especially the lady at the reception in the morning. She was passionate about her job and was happy to give us information about Barcelona.

Stayed here for one night recently. Rate of €69 room only. Very clean, good aircon, little balcony. Lots of noise from outside but this was expected considering location to Las Ramblas. Always had a prompt reply to emails and they arrange taxi from airport. Would stay here again.

Located short walk away from La Rambla, Hotel Ingles is a small and cosy hotel, very good for a budget stay. English speaking staff is helpful and can advise you on where to eat out or how to get to sights you want to see.
Please note, you may be asked to show your passport and your credit card if you made booking online. So make sure you have all documents ready when checking in.
I was allocated room 204, a room overlooking what is technically could be called a back yard. In reality it is a well of four walls with some sort of rood at the top, so not a great view, but it did not matter at all as I spent very little time in the room. The room itself is modern and clean. The room has hair dryer but you need to request an iron from the reception if you need one.
If you are noise sensitive, please note that the walls in the rooms are quite thin.
The hotel is few streets away from Sant Jaume church and you can hear church bells throughout the day. This adds a very nice touch to the hotel’s ambience.

The location is in the 'vibrant part of town'. I read all the 'hype' about the hoards of pickpockets and scumbags in Las Ramblas, but nobody bothered us.Head off down the back streets for the good bars and restaurants.

No facilities for breakfast, and a bit 'pricey' for a room only deal.

Room Tip: A room on the side will mean church bells, but they first strike at 9.00AM and finish at 9.00PM, so...
