My wife booked the hotel for a get away city break, their website is great and like a few folk have commented, 4 star hotels all the way. We've never wrote a negative revue, and are realistic people. Generally I think some folk that complain on this site just do so for the sake of it and would find faults anywhere. However.

The hotel is officially a 3 star, not the 4 it borrows from its sister hotels, but that's not that big a deal. From the outset the staff were not welcoming in the slightest. In a 4 night stay we can honestly say the only person who smiled and said hello was the cleaners. On one occasion I went to ask the guy on reception about where we could leave our bags prior to leaving on the final day, and he could not be bothered to remove his ipod headphones as he pointed to a corner. Upon checking out, not so much as a "have you enjoyed your stay" or anything, just a check to see we didn't owe money and not a word said.

The rooms are small and sparsely furnished, our TV did not work but that was not a problem as we were not there to watch it. You get the safety deposit box for free which is novel, and they will put 4 bottles of water in the fridge every day. We asked for a street view in the time they said they would allocate us one, but looked onto the central courtyard, by which I mean the bins. The bathroom was a joke, all their photos show baths, ours had just a shower and one that flooded the place if you ran it for more than 30 seconds. They also didn't change the towels on two days despite leaving them where we were meant to. Plus their fresh ones smell as if they wash them in vinegar!

The rooftop terrace and gym areas are both a joke. Much of the gym equipment was unservicable, and again their photos are misleading, having made good use of the mirrors to make it look like their was more than four pieces of equipment. The terrace is hilarious. You wont need any swimming stuff. The pool, or bath, is less than 3 feet deep and is 3m by 4m, and much of it is taken up by a randomly placed chair for disabled or infirm folk to dip their toes I guess. The whole area is the size I would expect for a decent apartments balcony or a small family sized villa. Not a 100 plus room hotel.

The Bins in the communal areas like the terrace, gym and 1st floor lounge area were not emptied whilst we were there. The same two lonely cigarette buts were in the terrace ashtray from the day we arrived to the day we left, as was the cans of juice, pizza boxes etc left their previously. The 1st floor lounge, which was apparently a bar, though if this was true it was NEVER open, was completely in darkness at all hours, about as welcoming as reception. You also cant get anything like a coffee or a juice anywhere, not even a vending machine.

Don't waste your money paying for breakfast or lunch. The selection is dreadful, fruit left in a bowl until its eaten or rotten, whichever comes first, the minimal of pastries and cereals. On no day did my wife not arrive to find the hot water pot empty or just freezing. Its not like its busy or the staff over worked, but beyond checking what room you are in to see if you have paid your £17 for this sub standard effort, they did nothing without prompting. There are a dozen cafes within a few blocks, go there, save money, eat better.

The location is ok if you are fit and are happy to walk places, Sacred Heart, Casa Batillo, Pot Olympic, the Zoo, Picasso, you can be at all of these on 15-20 minutes if you would rather do that than get the metro, but then the metro and tourist buses are excellent. Apart from that its a journey to any decent place to eat, although there are numerous supermarkets in the surrounding streets if you are after drinks or snacks.

Barcelona is outstanding, its quite easy to get around using the metro, but walking is enjoyable, its a beautiful place, and the grid street system makes it quite easy not to get lost in! Go to Park Guell in the morning, the sun makes it unforgiving otherwise as its on quite a steep hill, and unless you hide in the trees there is not much shade! It is such a fun place though so make the effort. Apart from that, Casa Batillo, Palau Guell, Picasso Museum and Sacred Heart all take about 1.5 - 2.5 hours, so do a couple a day and just enjoy the bustle, though book tickets in advance online and print them out as it saves you cueing. Las Ramblas is fun to walk up and down, but don't buy anything, if its not fake its overprices, or both. Some restaurants make you pay 15% more for sitting outside, its usually written on the menu or on a sign so don't get stung. Go to a Barcelona game! We went on the Saturday night, book tickets on the club website before hand and pick a good seat as the stadium is huge. My wife is not into football but loved it, the atmosphere trumps anything in the UK, and the football itself is jaw dropping, for less than watching some championship teams scrap it out at home!

In short, don't stay here, its a well decorated hotel ibis without the charm, but do visit Barcelona!!!

A good hotel, spacious and clean room and bathroom. There was free wifi and two computers for guests. I got robbed of my wallet before even reaching the hotel and we were in shock when we reached teh hotel. The hotel staff was very good and helpful. I needed to reapply my VISA and needed a lot of printouts. The guy at reception spoke good English and helped us with everything. A big thanks for that. There was watter bottles in the room and it was much appreciated after a tiring day out in Barcelona. Nearest station was Arc de Truimph-few mins walk.

Newish hotel with a fairly good location. Room was actually quite big with a nice street view. Free wifi that actually worked very well , so points for that. Walls are pretty thin so might want to take ear plugs with you. The patio is really a joke - no umbrellas and two sunbeds. With a little effort it could be really nice. All in all nothing special but not a disappointment either. Probably after a month you have forgotten the name of the hotel.

You get what you pay for. A fine hotel, but nothing more than that. I have to agree with a previous guests that wrote: the pool area / roof terrace is a joke! It's really small, unpleasant and ugly. They could have made it a little bit more inviting with flowers, umbrellas and comfortable chairs as there is a potential ...
One thing we found a bit annoying was that there is paper thin walls. When the cleaningstaff startet in the morning it was like they were in our room!
Clean rooms and comfy beds. Free wifi.
Great location as it is only 15-20 minutes walk to LaRamblas.

I highly reccomend this hotel. The room was kept clean throughout all our stay. We liked the AC, free Wi-fi, rooftop pool (very small though), free fitness room (very small though), free water in the room in the fridge. The room was very quiet (view to the inside block of the hotel).

Location is really good (5 mins from Arc de Triomphe metro station). 15 - 20 minutes walking from La Rambla area.

We had very nice stay there. I would come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: We had room to the inside block of the hotel and it is probably more quiet than the rooms to the street.
