“Convenient and great value.”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

We stayed in Barcelona for 2 nights. I had looked for somewhere cheap with secure parking and this fitted the bill. The staff were very friendly but unfortunately my Spanish is very limited and their English was also limited... but we're in Spain and I should learn more Spanish. The hotel is out of the town centre in a working non-tourist area but only about 300m from the metro. Parking is free under the flyover but we preferred to spend €8 per night to park in a secure compound about 50m away. Breakfast could be taken any time in the small cafe at the front of the hotel. Excellent value.

The hotel was a little out of town but only a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro which made the city centre very accessible. It was cleaned everyday and the staff there couldn't have been more friendly with very good English. Very comfortable rooms and overall a very pleasant place to stay. Would definitely stay there again, value for money was exceptional!

The first impression about the cleanliness of the room was supported by the good smell while you enter the room. The room was decorated basic but was very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There exist a free public car park next to hotel and the metro station to city center is only 10 minutes walk. You can find shops and restaurants very near to hotel.

Travelled with my 12yr old to the Grand Prix in May. The staff were very friendly, helpful & had a good grasp of English. The hotel was basic but clean. The café/bar was open to the public & you had to walk through this to get to the rooms, but it was never a problem. They had laminated pictures with prices for breakfast which solved any language problems. The packed lunches were made fresh to order that morning & were value for money - especially as we were at the Grand Prix all day. Overall I felt I got what I paid for - a reasonably priced bed for a long weekend. 2 happy but tired F1 fans.

No tea or coffee facilities in the rooms, but I brought my own kettle so that was OK.

This is a so good place to stay, you have to say that it is 10 metro stops (25 minutes) out of city centre (Line 2>Pep Ventura from Passeig de Gracia 300metres from Placa Cataluna which is where the airport bus will drop you; at the station buy a Hola BCN ticket for as many days as you are staying, (excluding the last day when you will maybe need one trip) This will give you unlimited bus and metro transport..not airport bus. Hotel is clean and comfortable, staff lovely, bar and terrace great value;the hot water is hot, the cold is drinkable; comfy bed,I had a balcony, overlooks motorway flyover; not an issue with balcony window closed

We first came across this hotel in 2008, and have been back more than once. In fact we are going again this year.
It should be pointed out that this is not a 5* establishment. There is no pool or facilities. But if you are after a good quality place to rest your head, that offers service and value that exceeds its cost, then this is for you.
The prices charged on their own site are good, but even they can be improved upon with a little searching. The hotel is willing to price match any deal you find (with proof) if you book direct. Just send an email to Xavier.

The hotel is located next door to a busy overpass, but this does not cause too much concern as
1) You are out most of the day being the tourist, and the traffic dies down at night.
2) The building faces parallel to the carraigeway, rather than facing it, so the noise is reduced further.
3) You have double glazing with air conditioning.

On our first visit there was a minor issue with a window lock. This was very quickly remedied by giving us another room so that the maintenance guy could work on it without disturbing us.
The staff are always friendly, with the reception team always willing to find that bit of info you need, a plug adaptor, phone charger or whatever. It's the little extra help they provide that makes the holiday go smoother. Xavier is the man that will make sure you have a relaxed stay.

I cannot vouch for the wifi. We were on holiday so we unplugged ourselves from that need, but notices do declare its availability.
The optional breakfast is of the continental variety. The orange juice is squeezed in front of you. How much fresher could you get it?
Meals are available after 8pm. We were not available for these and cannot comment, other than to say that the menu prices were very reasonable.
Should you wish to dine outside of the hotel, the street behind offers very good food and prices. It is a strange mix of cafes and bars that are run by Chinese, serving Spanish food and taking your order in English.

There are no parking facilities on site, but you can park under the flyover for nothing. Although you need to make sure that your car is removed before the market day setup (Tuesday?).
By car you are about 25 mins away from Las Ramblas.
For the foot bound traveller, you are 45 minutes away from central Barcelona via public transport, including the walk to the metro station (about 10 mins).
But better still, you are only 8 minutes walk away from the beach that has cleaner sand and very little of the commercial tat that can be expected at Barcelonetta, and no interference from the massage and Mojito vendors that decend like a plague at midday if you were to try to get a peaceful tan on the Barcelona beach.
2 stops further East from the hotel is an even quieter beach. Just make sure you are not facing East. That way you will avoid the view of the local factory cooling towers.
Outside of the hotel is a relatively recent food market offering good value with its products. You could easily make up a picnic from fresh goods to take to the beach.

Hotel guides would probably rate this venue as 3*. For the facilities offered, that is justified. But the service and flexibility of the staff is better than hotels we have stayed at that came with a 5* rating.

For those considering using Booking.com, be advised that as soon as you have your confirmation that you contact the hotel directly to confirm. Booking.com is too big to be guaranteed perfect, and it would not be the first time that a hotel was not made aware of the booking. I would have no concerns about Xavier and his team doing their best to help if ther was a problem.

Overall this is a good venue to stay at if you wish to avoid the drunken Brits prowling Las Ramblas, avoid the night-time shouting and screaming of stag and hen parties, to use as a base point for your touristic adventures, and to lay your head after a lazy day on the beach.
It is good value for a good stay. Go there and enjoy.

Room Tip: Get one overlooking the courtyard. The alternative is the road which won't be as quiet.

Good hotels in general. Located in a good area, close to the subway and quietly in the evenings. Staff responsive. Near a tram stop T5 and T6. Nearing the highway is not as critical as describe some of the guests. Free wireless network.

The only thing that did not like the sound insulation of walls. When the staff cleaned in a nearby room - we all heard and woke up.
Free computer does not have access to the USB plug.
