My two week city vacation was great, made even better, after long days of walking and seeing the sites, coming home to a hotel that was comfortable, clean & centrally located. At which time, if there were any questions of where to eat or what to do, train schedules, types of food, the front desk staff were incredable in their knowledge. On the couple of 'off of schedule' days, the rooftop pool deck was a quiet sanctuary. Centrally located on the Gran Via, a 1 minute walk from urgell, a 7 minute walk to universitat, and a 15 minute walk to placa catalunya, everything was at hand...barri gotic, la rambla, the eixample, the diagonal etc etc...and within easy reach on the metro system was the port, and mount tibidabo and montjuic....and the sexy 'hot' button for lighting in the room was a fun bonus...;-)

Room Tip: I stayed in a courtyard room, the view of the back courtyard, was great..the backs of apartment bloc...

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon and therefore decided to spend a little more and book a 'terrace room'. This was quite big, with a large bed and a good size balcony overlooking a small park at the back.
We also opted for the daily breakfast, which we thought was very nice as there was a large selection of different food to choose from. Curteous staff who always made sure everything was well stocked and replenished.
The staff at the front desk were also very helpful, identifying places to see on a map and giving us good directions on how to get everywhere. We were also given some excellent recommendations for restaurants in the area.
The location of the hotel was ideal for us. Even though the metro station was pretty much just outside the front door, we generally walked everywhere from the hotel.

Overall a very enjoyable visit and we would certainly stay here again, if we ever come back to Barcelona.

Room Tip: Our room on the top floor was a little noisy for a few minutes at 8a.m. due to the pool on the roof...

The Staff were awesome, and gave us great tips on where to eat, and the sites to visit. Thanks Daniela and guys at Soho Hotel for a fabulous week in Barcelona. It was our first time vacationing in Europe. And our hotel being so close to the Metro (Urgell) didn't hurt either. We were just a couple of stops from Catalunya.

We really rated this hotel. It was modern and stylish. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. The hotel had wifi and also desktop computers in the basement. As said by other reviewers the desk staff were extremely courteous and helpful. We are over 60, so do not agree with the previous reviewer who said this hotel is only for the young and trendy. The location was extremely convenient - within walking distance of many of the main sights, close to an underground station and to bus stop for airport. As we do not eat a large breakfast we did not have the hotel breakfast but went to a small cafe across the road which served excellent croissants and coffee. We would certainly use this hotel again.

The room was clean, quiet, with a very nice modern design.
The staff was very friendly and informative. Especially the receptionists which were very helpful.
The location was good (about 10 minutes walk from the Catalunya square and La Rambla, and 1 minute walk from a Metro station).
The street felt safe to walk on, even at night.
There are some nice coffee shops and super markets within a walking distance.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and we hope to come back soon.

This hotel has a kind of "hight tec" design and would be a good choice for guests who appreciate an emphasize on design. The front desk staff was very helpful, likewise the breakfast staff. Very nice breakfast, a few of the tables set on a small terrace in the back yard. Small roof terrace with eaqually small pool and just a very few deckchairs. Also some sitting groups. No restaurant but room service during daytime. Small late night opened supermarket near by.

If you don´t mind walking a little bit, many places of interest can be reached by foot like: Placa l'Universitad, the Gaudi buildings (Casa Batillo and Casa...), the Placa Catalanya, La Rambla and the old city with it's narrow streets, souvenir shops, tapas restaurants and also the Picasso Museum. A "hop on - hop off" tour on top of an open air double decker is recommended to get an overview of the city, for instance with a stop at the Parc Güell. Although there seems to be an eternal que for the cathedral "Sagrada Familia", a visit to this amazing work of Gaudi is strongly recomended. Can also be reached from the sightseeing bus.

Metro Station quite near the hotel and likewise a few bars and restaurants. Easily reached by taxi from the airport.

You can read quite controversial critics about this hotel. The truth is that the target group of this hotel is young and modern people. If you like very modern design, low atmospheric lighting, nice music in the lobby, etc then you will love it. If you have a more “traditional” taste then better look for something else.
We just returned from a 6 nights stay. We found the hotel really relaxing, atmospheric and stylish. The location is perfect, safe, right next to a metro station and just 10 minutes walk from the Rambla, Passeig de Garcia, etc. The hotel is also clean and staff is very helpful. We didn’t try breakfast in the hotel since we had booked it without breakfast, and you can have excellent breakfast in the nearby cafes if you get up a little late in the morning. Overall we really appreciated our stay although we found it a little expensive, but that's how Barcelona is after all.
