We stayed here for 2 lovely nights in room 58. The kingsize bed was great after a few nights in a tiny bed elsewhere. There was cable tv (showing canal + films, FOX tv etc) and WIFI access although it was generally a slow connection (but that is pretty usual for Spain by the looks of things). The lighting was a lot of fun (on/off/hot/soft), the bathroom and the bedroom are separated by a glass wall, if you want some privacy you can close the blinds but if you fancy watching tv from the bath that is possible too!! We had a room overlooking the front of the hotel but it wasn't noisy once the windows were closed etc.

The staff were helpful both with recommendations and promptly fixing the jammed window. They even provided the towels when the other half decided that despite it being November he was going to have a dip in the rooftop pool (resulting in a lot of teeth chattering).

The business centre consisted of two computers but the front desk printed our boarding passes for us and whilst on a holiday it wasn't really an issue.

The location is central enough without being on Las Ramblas so not noisy etc. The only downside was our original directions sent us to Placa de Catalunya which with cases was a bit of a further walk than planned. When we were planning to leave we spoke to the receptionists who told us of a aerobus stop much closer and if we were to come again that is definitely the way to get to the hotel.

All round a really good experience and worth the money.

Room Tip: The front of the hotel is on a main road but is well insulated, the back of the hotel overlooks a ch...

This modern facility, in an excellent location, with a friendly staff, was truly wonderful. We loved Barcelona, and the welcoming SOHO as our home while there was a treat. The reception staff spoke excellent English and was both friendly and helpful. Whether suggesting sites to visit, recommending restaurants and making reservations, or calling a cab, they were always courteous and efficient. We recommend the SOHO without reservation, but we do suggest you make a reservation before you arrive.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the terrace rooms, and with the weather good, we enjoyed both sitting out there...

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in a terrace room at the Soho the beginning of October. The hotel is very modern and updated. Never did visit the rooftop pool area as it was too cool to swim but the rest of the hotel was very nice.

We were really looking forward to our terrace room but we ended up with a courtyard (back of building) room with less than stellar views. We asked if we could switch to a view of the main street but they said those were already occupied. The room was also very noisy even though it overlooked a courtyard. Didn't get much sleep the first night as it sounded as if our windows were open and could hear everything that was said below us in the courtyard. So, the next day we went across the road to the Pharmacy and bought some .99 Euro earplugs...slept like babies the second night.

Overall a great hotel in an excellent location close to everything. The metro is right outside as well as an ATM. Would definately recommend the hotel but would book a regular Urban room the next time and skip the higher priced terrace room.

Room Tip: Save some money and go with the Urban room.

We reserved a terrace room, and were really looking forward to having a private terrace to enjoy the temperate October weather. When we go there, they said that the plumbing in our assigned room was not functioning properly, and they didn't know when it would be resolved. So they temporarily gave us an urban room. Three days later, the terrace room reserved for us was still out of order and so we elected to just stay in the urban room for the remainder of our stay (2 more nights). Given that this is not a large hotel, it was a little frustrating that we had to explain the circumstances each time we went to ask about the room. And their offer of breakfast to make up for the difference in room cost (we had prepaid) was not satisfactory, since the breakfast was overpriced, and cafes are steps away. Ultimately, the refunded the cost difference, which was the only right thing to do. And the manager sent up complimentary champagne and a hand-written apology, which was nice. The decor is interesting and modern (odd lighting which others have mentioned), the location is good (metro steps away), and the service was friendly, helpful, and generally responsive (our issue aside). I think bathroom lighting could be greatly improved - form precluding function in this case. I'd say that our experiences was more 3-star, but 4-star appears to be the typical experience, which I can agree with.

1 pointer: the toiletries at this hotel (and perhaps generally in Spain) are pathetic. Soaps and shampoos don't lather at all. So bringing your own might be a good idea.

Loved the rooms and the roof deck pool. Great location. Best part might be the fact that it's across the street from Escriba. Would definitely stay here again.

Very good location and very good service with the receptionists speaking very good English. The rooms are quite small. We were upgraded to a slightly larger room but we were on the second floor above the entrance. The room faces the street so we could hear sirens from the emergency vehicles zooming past in the night. We had breakfast in escriba (opposite) and other cafes nearby. The airport bus from the basement of the airport terminal takes you opposite the hotel. The pool on the topfloor is very small - not much bigger than a Jacuzzi.

I chose this specific hotel as a result of reading all other Tripadvisor reviews. The hotel is in a great location for the tourist sights, and extremely ideal for the metro and aerobus stops. The rooms are very comfortable and the rooftop terrace, which has a swimming pool, proved to be a bonus. The staff are very helpful, and it is definitely recommended that you use the hotel's safe. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Barcelona
