I stayed here in February it was the perfect place for a home base while exploring the city. I pretty much walked everywhere and it was very easy to hop on the bus or get to the shopping areas. Breakfast was great and got me going before my days out. The folks who worked there were very friendly and extremely helpful answering any questions I had or giving directions. Take a look at the photos of the interior of this place, it is so kitschy and fun! My room (and bathroom) was simple and clean.

Room Tip: If you would like a room with a window to the outside make sure you ask for one. My room had no wind...

Thanks for a great weekend in your hotel. Been staying in may hotels around the world, but L'Antic Espai was for sure one of the most memorable experinces. Be ready to receive many of our friends in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms pointing out to the balcony.

We went on a long weekend vacation in July, after looking into several hotels we decided to try this one, and we were not disappointed!
It's a very "unique" place designed in a french renaissance way. location is wonderful , the stuff was extremely nice and helped with everything we needed and more, the patio was very peaceful and having breakfast there was a great way to start the day.
only down sides is that the rooms are a bit small (not suited for long stays but perfect for a few days) and that the electronics are a bit old (small TV with no usb) but it wasn't really an issue if you're looking for a romantic place while you're in town

We booked the Hostal Antic Espai for early June. Location suited us, far enough away from the La Rambla, but close enough to walk. The Hotel itself is up a couple of flights of stairs, but so? Our room was brilliant, marvellous antiques, really olde worlde, my wife just loved it. We had a terrace off our bedroom where we had a "continental" breakfast. Very nice and relaxing. The staff were terrific, polite, knowledgeable, charming and very funny. Plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants nearby ( next door). The highlight for me was walking down to the Boqueria Market, best I've ever seen anywhere, tapas bars, fabulous produce, Iberico Jamon. Bliss. Recession in Spain??? Not that we saw. Barcelona is flying, a great city and we will definitely return to Antic Espai, different, but viva la difference.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with access to the terrace. Lovely

A small charming and beautiful hotel The tall carved wooden entry doors were beautiful. The staff was wonderful. The Housekeeper and the Desk Clerks provided exceptional service. We had a terrace sitting room where breafast was served every morning. The place was decorated with antiques and porcelain. There was a table top "Victrola" in the lobby with a huge brass horn. Security was state of the art with "finger print" entry doors. Strangely, I enjoyed sitting in front of the hotel on a bench in the evening and watching the locals travel home on their scooters, bicycles, and by walking. There was a lttle grocery around the corner which sold, among other things, bags of ice. (Sometimes hard to find in Europe). My wife had a broken foot, and the ice was appreciated. Tapas bars were on almost every street, and the variety of offerings was entertaining and delicious.

I would love to go back there and stay a week or so for rest and relaxation.

Room Tip: Above I inadvertently checked "Swimming Pool" but that was a mistake. It had no pool, whi...

Stayed for a week in room 105 that had access to a lovely patio which we used for breakfast and some lovely evenings with a bottle of wine. Location ++ staff friendly and helpful. While small still comfortable and elegantly furnished. Security high tech used our fingerprint to gain access to the building.

We chose this place from reading TripAdvisor reviews. Our experience was different.

The location is good, and the staff is nice (when they are not too noisy in the evenings). However, our room (double, 103 I think) was super cramped. No place to put the suitcase. No privacy in the bathroom. The main space is separated from the toilet and the shower by a thin semitransparent divider. Maybe this is romantic for the shower but definitely not for the toilet!

The whole place is basically one large apartment subdivided into rooms. Narrow corridors, and you hear everything that is going on in the hall and in the next room.

Room Tip: Maybe the suite is better. And they are all the same price.

We would like to explein few things a bout this rewiew.
First of all, its true, our hotel is make from 130 squeared meters apartament, We have only ten rooms and for the european relation is completly corect the rooms sizes. If you are looking for a big and impersonal place its not the place for you. In our concept we change charm for space.
The room 103 have a wall between the the room size and the badroom. Itis an antic wood and glass wall. Behind it is a big courtain wchich privide the room for a privad badroom. I can not understand peoples who sleep together can have problem with it.
Our staff is in the hotel, normally, only during the day, depending of chaeck in from the guest. Oly one person at the desk. How can be it noisy.
Sorry for your experience with us but isdifficult to please everybody.
Abel Estevez Gonzalez.
