We have just returned from a weekend break at the Catalonia Ramblas and it was a perfect break in every way.
The staff at check in were excellent so friendly and helpful, the room 521 a Junior Suite with small pool was superb very quiet and well equipped. The little touches like fresh fruit and water in the room and the turn down service with chocolates made you feel special.

We could not fault the room in any way breakfast was great hot and cold buffet very good choice and not overly busy. I would certainly recommend the hotel I am returning in August and looking forward to it. The Management teams should be congratulated on such an excellent hotel.

Room Tip: Room 520 and 521 quiet and excellent

My wife & I have just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay in Barcelona. Although we have visited this wonderful city on numerous occasions before; it is the first time we have stayed at this hotel, and we were knocked out by the surroundings, quality of rooms & service, and extremely friendly & helpful staff.
The location is excellent; just a minutes walk from the Placa de Catalunya & Las Ramblas, making it central to all the normal attractions. Our room on the third floor was very clean, quiet, & comfortable, making for a good nights sleep on comfortable beds, The breakfast provided a large range to choose from (especially the Churros & Hot Chocolate!!). The general style of the hotel is modern and relaxing, which is exactly what you need when you have a mini-break. This hotel is definitely worth a visit, and we will definitely be coming back. What more can I say, 10 out of 10 all round!!

The hotel is centrally located a short walk away from Placa de Catalunya and La Ramblas. Consider taking the airport bus, at a fraction of the cost of a taxi, which stops on Placa de Catalunya.

What the rooms fell short off, the good location and friendly staff made up for. Arriving late in the evening tired and with a cold, all I wanted to do was shower and sleep. Unfortunately it was a bit of a scramble before I could settle down in a clean room. The black tiles in the bathrooms were perhaps not a good idea as it shows wax build up and stripping/ cleaning thereof obviously, which certainly does not create a good impression as far as hygiene and cleanliness goes. The beds have blankets and sheets only. I requested a duvet but was told that the hotel does not have any duvets - again, not ideal when you have a cold and looking forward to sleeping comfortably. The towels were not the greatest but served their purpose. Good choice of channels on the television - mainly in Catalonian. Keep going, beyond 50 there are a couple of English options.

Breakfast was good. Wide choice of warm and cold options that should hit the spot.

The price I paid was good and I suppose I cannot expect too much considering the average price of centrally located hotels in Barcelona. My expectations were perhaps a bit higher than what they should have been. I may stay at this hotel again, but not before I have done a good search and comparison and looked at special offers at other better hotels I have stayed at in Barcelona.

Great location to explore a fantastic city. Room was very clean and modern. Comfortably accommodating a family of 4. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast expensive but the "hot food" was tepid at best.Room service limited for 4* hotel nothing available freshly prepared in hotel.

Me and my boyfriend book into the sister hotel, Catalona Catherdral but unfortunately one our way to the airport we were alerted there was flooding and they were putting us in the sister hotel, Catalona Ramblas. Only a 5 min walk away, we arrived and staff were friendly and gave us free breakfast for compensation. We stayed in Superior room, was amazing, clean, huge shower and great view - Only prob is they have two large beds instead of one huge double bed.. Brekfast was great, huge choice and nice and fresh. Perfect location...loved it!!

The strength of this hotel is its location. It is convenient for sightseeing, to the subway, and to the bus to the airport. There is a lot of shopping nearby and tour buses leave from across the street. Other than the location, I was less than impressed.

The rooms have been recently upgraded but because it is an older hotel, they can be somewhat quirky and in fact charming. However, they are small. There was no chest of drawers / dresser in my room for clothes, and not enough clothes hangers. I stored my clothes in my suitcase. One nice feature of the rooms is that they were renovated with “wood” floors. That seems cleaner to me than carpets and is helpful to people with allergies. The housekeeping in general is sub-par and needs improvement. Rooms are often not cleaned until late in the day, and I even found a bug in my room one day. There is no hair conditioner in the bathroom, only a single product that functions as shampoo and body wash. Rooms on the lower floors can be dark, but all-in-all surprisingly quiet given the location.

The hotel breakfast feels like that offered throughout Europe at tourist class hotels. It is a giant room filled with people with no atmosphere at all. The food is just ok and there is no variation from day to day. I will say, the waitstaff is quite attentive and helpful, and cleared plates quickly. I was there for a business meeting and we were served lunch in the same room. The food was absolutely awful and few in our group finished their meals. With the wide range of excellent low priced restaurants nearby, do eat elsewhere.

As the style of breakfast indicates, the hotel sort of spans the tourist hotels and business hotel categories. Large tour groups stay there and if you arrive at the same time as one of them, you can have quite a wait in the lobby.

The fitness center is small but high quality. It is limited in hours which can cause a problem for international travelers with early flights or jetlag.

All in all it is an ok choice. I would likely stay again if the price were right, but would eat elsewhere.

I was there for NYE and i was really amazed by the location of the hotel. It's close to everything. i go out from the hotel , i make few steps and i am in the Ramblas. You can party in the street and go back to the hotel.
The rooms are super clean and the quality of the bed is awesome. The service is good and the staff looks happy to work. they send positive vibes.
I would recommend this hotel because we got a nice promo on internet and the ratio quality/price is excellent. We are not rich, We are not poor and it was affordable.

Room Tip: Choose either a standard room or if you can afford, choose a premium room
