Excellent boutique hotel with amazing staff in the heart of barcelona-highly recommend to anyone traveling to barcelona. Walking distance to all sites and shops and right next to public transport making it easy to get here from the airport or train station

Overall have to say after my second stay, this offers a solid solution for a not too expensive stay in Barcelona. Mind you, they have recently jacked up the rates a bit, so it's not as economic as it used to be.

Couple of detailed points:

Pluses
+ good price quality relationship
+ beds offer a good night's sleep
+ ok location, not bad if you are ok to walk the city or take other transport
+ two parking garages right next door.
+ rooms looking over the intersection offer nice city views

Minuses
- feels overall a bit too try hard to be a design / boutique hotel
- hardcore cinnamon scent makes you almost puke when you enter the lobby
- open shower looks cool and modern but unfortunately sets half the bathroom under water
- several liquors on the menu are not available. How come?
- no Spanish guests

I will be back!

As usual tripadvisor reviews come through with a winner! Lived up and exceeded our expectations. Lovely corner room on the 6th floor handy to go upstairs to the stunning roof top terrace bar. Rooms are lovely, spacious, the house keeping and cleanliness is faultless, with the large shower in bathroom great. Hotel bar a great find, every night on our way home, we ended up downstairs drinking to the early hours, with bar staff great fun. All the staff wonderful, the manager came and talked us through his favourite local restaurants, marking them on a map. Advised us where to visit, and when. We didn't eat here but restaurant always busy. Great position in town about 20 minutes walk fro city centre(Las Ramblas), but lots of stunning restaurants nearby - try B Burger, Bodega 1900', Tickets, Codium. This is a must stay hotel. One complaint for us cold northerners - local temperatures of 19 to 20 outside, made the room warm (lift temperature was showing 26c), as it is winter room temperature controls were not working, from previous Spanish experiences know that hotels switch of their systems in the winter. We ended up with our patio windows open all night - which meant noise of city life kept up all night and early morning!

Room Tip: Corner rooms, 68, 58 etc are good.

As soon as you step inside Villa Emilia the beautiful smell hits you and the whole hotel, including rooms and corridors smells wonderful. The rooms are a good size and after 2 of our party were initially being put in a room lower down that didn't have much light all that was needed was a quick trip to reception and they immediately rectified the problem. The bathrooms are stylish and the beds are super comfy.
We enjoyed their delicious breakfasts everyday which included fruits, pastries, meats, fish, eggs and breads. The roof terrace is also a must for the beautiful views.
Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and hospitable and I would definitely stay if returning to Barcelona.

Room Tip: The higher up the floor you stay the better the light is.

This is easily one of the best hotels that I have stayed in. The price was extremely good given the demand during the mobile world congress. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel interiors are beautiful. The room and the location of the hotel is perfect. The director of the hotel Pere spent time to chat with us and show us the small details in the hotel, suggested some great restaurants and above all shared with us funny anecdotes of spain and its culture. Highly recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

Cannot rate this hotel enough. When you walk in, the beautiful of smell of incense hits you and immediately have a smile on your face!

We arrived before check in was open as our flight was very early, however they let us check in straight away and it was no problem.

The staff are fantastic and nothing is any trouble for them!

The rooms are beautiful, spacious and the bathrooms are fantastic!

The hotel is in a fantastic location and Rocafort metro is at the end of the street. However we just walked everywhere!

For me, this is the place you need to stay at when visiting Barcelona and will be hard to beat.

If I ever visit Barcelona again, I will have no hesitation to book this hotel.
