“Excellent hotel!”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

We are now at Villa Emilia with one more night, of 5, to stay. We are loving it. All the desk staff, women included, have been 100% helpful. Monica has researched and booked dinner reservations for us on both a Saturday and Monday nights (not easy). Veronica got our iPad onto wireless for us. The breakfast buffet is excellent and bountiful. Staff very attentive. We ate dinner here one night and had good tapas - with great live jazz, piano and base. We've had a glass of wine on the roof terrace twice before going to dinner. Lovely and pleasant. A pleasant place to meet and chat with other guests. Our room, #58, is dead quiet, clean, modern, nice street view. It's in a pleasant, more residential neighborhood than Bari Gotic hotels we considered. A trade of less bustle for more quiet and a wee bit more effort to get somewhere. The Metro is a block away. We have used it almost daily, plus buses to/from Placa Espanga 5 blocks a away. Taxis are constant on the street. There is an ATM across the street and a little grocery a few doors away. I would stay here again and recommend it quickly to the most picky of friends - with no hesitation whatever.

Room Tip: 58 is a lovely room away from elevator, and high up from street. Very, very quiet! Best silent air...

Very attractive reception and modern, stylish and functional rooms.
The restaurant is very good And the rooftop terrace lovely for drinks, etc.
The hotel is on a very busy intersection but even our 4th floor room on the road side was nice and quiet, with effective and silent air conditioning.
The staff advises that booking directly with them is normally the best price. Probably worth checking.
Beds seemed very firm initially, but both of us slept soundly.
Mini bar in the room. Would have liked tea and coffee facilities. (Hint to the management) :-)

We had a 2-night stay, and the location was perfect, so we could walk to all the sites. Some were a trek, but that is part of the city break to see different parts of the city on foot.

Check in was quick and easy, and they provided information on how to get about., and the WiFi password. While the WiFi was free, its very slow at times.

We had room 26, and my only issue, was that it looked overlooked the cross roads, and was subject to traffic noise early morning/late evening.

On the first night we ate in the restaurant after an early start from the UK, and the meal was so so. There was a long wait to be served, even though there were only 2-other couples, the start & the main course arrived at the same time, so the main had to be sent back. We had to keep asking for the wine we ordered. When the main returned, the meat was hot, but the veg was cold, so back it went again

Room Tip: Avoid rooms over looking the cross road

We also booked this hotel based on the good reviews, the website and the good price. We travel quite frequently, so I am basing my comments on similar hotels where we've stayed. We spent 5 nights the last week of April, first of May. Upon registration, it was immediately brought to our attention that we booked through Expedia instead of the hotel, and therefore, were not entitled to some of the perks. We've encountered this negative reaction at other hotels, and will remember this when making future bookings.
The room was lovely with a nice bathroom. The hotel was clean and modern. The bartender was very friendly and nice.
The location was far from the main tourist sites. From their website, we thought the hotel would be more centrally located. We like to walk but this was much further than we expected. The metro, taxis and buses were available.
After discovering that we needed to download tickets to the Sagrada Familia, I asked the ladies at the front desk for help. (They have the only printer in the hotel.) This was at night when no one else was around. They said they were too busy. Finally, this kind young man from the hotel, named Aaron, came to my rescue.
Throughout the stay, we found the women at the front to be very aloof, unfriendly and put out. They wouldn't attempt to print out our boarding passes. The two guys were quite the opposite. They tried to make excuses for the women (they're stressed), but they had heard many similar comments.
All in all, if you're planning on spending a lot of time in your hotel and around the immediate area, this hotel is fine. There are nice cafes in the area.
However, if you are coming to Barcelona to enjoy the major sites, I would choose a hotel closer to the center, with a much friendlier staff.

Room Tip: We were told that all rooms are the same. No rooms with a view.

We stayed 5 nights for Barcelona sightseeing at Ville Emilia. It was a great place with clean rooms and an excellent service, especially during breakfast and at the bar.

The hotel is located close to the city center and a subway station. We used the bike rental offer from the hotel for 2 days. The bikes are perfect!

We can recommend this hotel!

Nice, clean hotel in the middle of Barca. 20 min. walk to Centre of Barcelona or you can walk 10 minutes the other way to the Magic Fountain and a nice Shoppingcentre(Tip; go to the roof of the centre, nice view over the founain, squere and Museum, lots of Resturants on the roof). The Hotel is also located 1 min walk to the Rocafort underground, very easy to get around. The beds could be softer, they where very hard.

Room Tip: Take a corner room, 58, 68 they are supposed to be bigger.

Booked this hotel due to all the good reviews. It certainly lived up to its reputation and would want to stay here again on our next visit to the city. Everything was perfect. Superb ambience, comfortable rooms, good food, delightful sincere staff & the complimentary tea/coffee and pastries between 5 & 7pm was a very nice touch and much appreciated.
