“A good hotel in a nice neighborhood”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

We stayed here for four nights and did enjoy the hotel. It's a 10-20 minute walk to the Rambla and Placa Catalunya. The closest metro station was just a minute away (Rocafort). The metro is easy to use and this line (L1 I think) connects with other lines just a few stations away.

The breakfast was good too. Quite small but everything you need more or less. Bread, butter, ham, cheese, marmelade, youghurt, croissant, cereals, fruits, coffee, tea and juice.

I would say that the beds were rather hard but no problems for us. The bathroom was nice but if you're really private it may bother you. No locks and you hear everything going on in there. At least in the standard room.

The staff was friendly and helped us with all of our requests. The roof bar is pretty cozy and the bartender was generous with the drinks, good or bad, it's up to you.

The area is nice and quiet and we slept like babies.
Free WiFi is always a plus and it worked fairly good in the rooms.

I can recommend this hotel if you want to stay close to the center but not in the middle of it.

This hotel was modern, clean, beautifully decorated. Close to subway stop taking you directly into downtown. As maluch as I liked this hotel the only problem was the location, it was a little too far from city center for me, but everything else about the hotel is amazing

Villa Emilia is a very nice hotel. The location is probably the best thing about this place - it is walking distance from Plaza de España and to a nearby metro station. It is also quite private and very nice for couples.

The staff is helpful and friendly but they won't bother you unless you call upon them or ask for assistance. I actually felt that the staff can be a bit more attentive and welcoming (particularly at check-in).

The rooms are nice and cozy and the beds are comfortable. The offer free wifi in the rooms but it was just so slow and unreliable.

Overall, it was a rather pleasant stay and the hotel certainly qualifies as a pretty solid 4-star hotel.

This hotel has everything. The decor is modern and breathtaking, the afternoon coffee on the terrace gives a welcome break from the busy city, and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast selection is wonderful and the hotel is located within walking distance of the bus stop for the Barcelona City Tours sightseeing bus. Would go back in a heartbeat. Stunning.

We spent 3 nights at Villa Emillia and we loved it.
The location is superb 1 minute from the metro and a walking distance from Placa Espania or Placa Catalunya, yet the neighborhood is quiet and inviting. With many restaurants coffee shops and patisseries around.
The hotel itself is stylish but not overly so, and had a modern but warm atmosphere.
Our room was also modern but warm and cosy. Noise isolation was perfect, and from the 4th floor we could not hear the street at all. Air conditioning was also excellent, crucial in the Spanish summer.
The hotel staff were unobtrusive and never bothered us. But when we needed their help, they were friendly, professional and helpful.
The rooftop bar was a blessed addition with free coffee and pastries in the late afternoon, and alcohol, snacks and music at night.
Overall, a perfect place for couples' vacation in the city.

Spent an amazing 4 days in Barcelona staying at the Villa Emilia. This hotel does not disappoint as a 4 star it was truly perfect.

The first thing you'll notice on arrival is how amazing the reception area smells all the time from all the scented candles. The decor is very modern with quirky little touches. Staff are super attentive and very friendly. The rooms are a really good size for a city hotel. Really nice touches with both full size windows opening onto Juliette balconies. Spotlessly clean bathroom with walk in shower. Huge fluffy towels changed daily.

We ate in the restaurant once during our stay and found the food to be of very high standard. The set menu is reasonable at €25 each including wine.

The roof top terrace bar really was the icing on the cake, hand poured g&ts at your table could not have been any better. Lots of comfy seating and fairy lit palm trees.

The location just 1 minute from a metro and 15 mins walk to La Ramblas was ideal.

Beautiful hotel with a lovely breakfast, which was discounted if you signed up when you arrived. Nice little bar on roof terrace with free coffee, cold drinks and pastries between 5-7 each day. Only criticism was that the rooms are supposed to be soundproofed, road noise was acceptable but anyone coming out of lift or just talking near your room door could be heard very clearly. Maybe some soundproofing around doors would solve this. Very comfortable beds.
