We took a shot at this hotel amongst all of those available and we scored big time.
The location is about 35-40 meters ( 115 + feet) off the Rambla De Catalunya, which is part of the La Rambla, just on the other side of the Catalunya square. It is only two short blocks to the square from the hotel.
There are numerous restaurants in the area as it is a very popular tourist area.
Entry to the hotel is controlled so that it is not open to the public, so you will feel very secure staying there.
All the public areas were very clean and well maintained.
Upon entering we were warmly greeted and assisted in checking in. Procedures for entry, buffet breakfast, elevators and assistance were explained.
There is a large area for just relaxing on the ground floor. On one side a Happy Hour bar with seating and the other side hot coffee and tea is available 24/7 with seating.
We opted for the buffet breakfast and it was well worth it. A great way to start the day with so much variety available. The breakfast is served in the basement, which is a very common practice in Europe. The public rest rooms are in the basement also.
Our room was spacious with plenty of storage space, a very comfortable bed with nice reading lights. The room was clean and kept clean while we were there.
Like many hotels/cruise lines you need to place one of the room keys into the slot provided to have the room lights function.
The bathroom was modern with all the amenities. The foot is glass so if you get up in the middle of the night and turn the light on you will probably wake your partner.
There were bicycles available on the ground floor that were included with the room.
You can catch the hop on/off buses one block on either side of the hotel, depending on which direction you wish to go in first.
The Sagrada Familia is a short (15 min. ) walk from the hotel also but be sure to book your visit there online before hand or if you forget see if the hotel can assist you.
Overall an excellent stay in an excellent city.

We visited Barcelona for 3 days and stayed at this hotel. The staff was great, the room was perfect for 3 people. We were able to walk everywhere pretty quickly. Lots of restaurants to choose from very close by. We did to the tour hop on/off bus one day and were able to get tickets right at the front desk. When we checked out, they held our luggage as we had a later departure and it was no problem. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean and in great location!

We’d done some research before selecting this hotel and were very impressed with the reviews. The location was very important to us for getting around the city and for restaurants in the area and it didn’t disappoint. We couldn’t have picked a better location. We arrived and the reception area is really big and comfortable. The greeting we received was lovely and we were checked in really quickly. We were a family of 4 travelling together and we were allocated adjoining rooms which was ideal. Both rooms were lovely and big and the bathrooms were huge. There were safes in the room which worked off a credit or store card and were really easy to use. There was lemon water, hot water, tea, coffee and biscuits provided at all times of the day in the hotel reception. The staff were friendly and informative at all times. There was a lovely touch that there were bikes available for the guests to use. I would definitely go back to this hotel if returning to Barcelona it’s fantastic.

I paid a little bit more for a “Romantic Room”—which was supposed to include a robe, Slippers and chocolate!! What I won’t do for some chocolate !! I’m so glad that I upgraded. Oops there was just a knock on the door and I was given a bottle of champagne on ice and chocolate!!! Omg!!! All I need is a partner!!!!. I was given a corner suite on the top floor (room 403) with windows on 3 sides providing gorgeous vistas of the city! But what I want expecting was a private and fantastic patio with 2 lounge chairs and 2 regular chairs. A gorgeous oasis in the heart of Barcelona. The location can’t be beat—2 blocks from Plaza Catalunya—where I will take the Aeropuerto bus for EU5.9. And you are 2 blocks from Passeig de Gracia which has all the high end shopping and 2 Gaudi houses. This is more of a boutique hotel but I love it. I spent the previous 2 nights at the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos in Barcelona—a gorgeous, large hotel but it is in the middle of no where. This is the place to be!!
