A great hotel, and not really anything to "fault" however I wouldn't class it as a 5* hotel. However, for the price we paid it's not a big deal! Rooms were always spotless each day and bedding/towels changed whenever asked. Breakfast in the main tower was lovely; a great start to the morning! I definitely think this is more of a business trip hotel than tourist - the metro ride is about 30 minutes to Plaza Espanya; which is fine if you're spending all day there however when you want a mid afternoon siesta you then have to come back and head out again later in the evening. All in all however a great stay and well worth the money, would recommend.

We have just returned from a 3 day break here. Arriving at the airport take a bus 46 (just over 2 Euros each) and get off at Granvia (about 3-4 stops and 10 minutes).

Book in at the Hesperia Hotel. You cannot miss it as it is a red tower block with a spaceship ( a restaurant ) on the top. The apartments are 3 minutes from the hotel. They are spacious and cleaned everyday. Breakfast is on floor 4 of the hotel. Breakfast was probably the best selection we have had and if you like a glass of bubbly this is next to the coffee machine! There is a nespresso machine in the room but you need to bring your own capsules. No kettle.

To get into Barcelona take the metro. The nearest stop is 3-5 mins away and is across the University car park. A T10 ticket gives you 10 journeys for about £8. We bought 1 ticket between us.
The stop you need to get off for the centre is Catalunya about 15 stops and just under 30 minutes.

If you want to get some supplies turn left out of the Fira suites, past the Citric restaurant and go straight on for 4 minutes. Here you will find Atms, supermarkets, cafes etc. The 365 Café does baguettes/pastries/drinks and is cheap (5 euros for 2 huge to toasted baguettes and drinks). There is also a kebab shop which looks a bit rough but again if you just want a pizza, beer, salad etc. it is fine and you will end up watching football with the locals. Again good value as we paid about £17 for pizza/salad with cheese and meat /chips/ice cream and 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine.

All in all a great place to stay as long as you don't mind travelling into the centre. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport and centre but it only holds 13 and it is first come first served. Ask at the reception for a timetable.

This was a great hotel. It was a bit far from the city center, but the metro is a 5 minute walk from the hotel in a well-lit area. We were not in the hotel - but knew to go there to check in - thanks to other reviewers - plus there is a sign on the door. Other reviewers stated that there was no where to eat other then the hotel - this is incorrect. There is a whole block of cafes and bars a short walk from the hotel. At Cafe 365 a few of the employees speak a bit of English. The hotel breakfast was very nice and had plenty of variety. If you reserve the day before it is 1/2 the price. It isn't inexpensive, but it is a hotel - never cheap to eat at a hotel. It is very close to the airport so nice if you have an early flight. Even though it is close to the airport we did not hear planes. It is near a hospital but were not bothered by the sound of ambulances. There was confusion at the airport - the tourism help desk does not list the hotel as having a shuttle - which it does. It has limited times, but it DOES have one. We took it to the airport when we left. Overall we had a very nice stay.

We stayed for 2 Nights and were supprised about our Appartement. Every thing was designed and great looking. Very nice bathroom, living room and bedroom. Equipped with a small kitchen minibar, hair dryer, two tvs, desk for working, Couch and super bed in kingsize style. Trought to an discount, we got the breakfast buffet for 12 instead of 24 Euro. One of the Best breakfast at Hotel ever. Good Coffee, dozents of cereals and fresh Juice, fruits, a Lot of different Kind of eggs and backed stuff and so on.
The Metro line is about 5 Minuten away and in 10 minutes from there you are in town.
This Hotel is Worth every Cent of money and we can recommend it to every one.

This was a weekend break, for 3 nights. We booked a short package With flights but I recommend you book direct to get the discounted hotel rate.
The suites, unlike the massive Hesperia (sister) Tower, are only 3 floors high, but not much of a view in the area anyway. Nice water feature and park at the back. The decour is clean and contemporary, with black gloss tiles throughout.
The kitchenette consists of sink, hob, microwave and basic pots and pans. Washing up is taken care off by staff upon servicing the room.
Large king bed was joined in the middle but I think they are bolted so hardly noticed. Breakfast is well worth the price, although if you're on a tight budget there's a cafe and shop nearby. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Shuttle bus to airport is a bonus.
Other people have commented on the location being too far out but the metro in Barcelona is cheap and efficient so no worries there.
All in all, great stay.

Overall, great hotel, especially in terms of value. You’d have to pay twice or more for anything of this quality downtown. Plus, it’s right on the subway and near airport.

You see that gigantic space-age-looking tower in the middle of nowhere? (You literally can see it from miles and miles.) Yeah, you are not staying there, but in a three-story building beside it. You still need to check-in at the Tower though, then roll (or get the bell boy to roll) your luggage over.
The suites section has three floors (with elevators). The rooms face either to a concrete courtyard, to a somewhat busy street, air exhaust from the tower or the back with some green space, breakfast tables and a water feature – we recommend the back.

We don’t recall the number of the room, but they all seem to be the same with the distinction of either two twin or one king bed. The rooms are bit small with low ceilings, so you might feel a bit claustrophobic especially with lots of luggage. Each suite has a kitchenette with a mini fridge, stove, microwave and a table. There is a pull out couch and a tv in the living area. Overall décor is modern-ish, albeit a bit worn out. There were two open-able windows in the living and bedroom (we like fresh air). The water in the shower is powerful. But the glass doors were no match for the water, which causes constant flooding.

There is not much in the surrounding area, there are some lunch and cheap (!) tapas places a short walk north. The subway stop (Hospital de Bellvitge) is the last stop on L1 and could be a bit deserted at night. Unlike many other subway stops in Barcelona, it is fully accessible, but the entrance is in the middle of the Hospital’s parking lot and requires a brisk walk to the hotel. Although, it does appear to be pretty safe.

The hotel does offer a shuttle between the hotel and Airport and Downtown, but it was way incompatible with our schedule, so we never used it. Do check with them for a schedule. Using subway is a breese. And it is pretty easy to get between the Airport and Hotel by bus 46 (cheap, gets you there in 15 minutes, very frequent).

If you plan on visiting museums or other landmarks, ask the concierge about travel vouchers. We bought one for La Pedrera, which gave us a small discount, and, more importantly, allowed to skip the line.

Room Tip: We recommend rooms facing back - no street noise, no air exhaust from the tower, and the view is kin...
