“Great B&B Boutique Hotel i nthe Heart of Barcelona”
Reviewed 28 July 2011

The 5 Rooms is a great boutique B&B in the heart of Barcelona on Pau Claris. Close to the subway and everything Barcelona has to offer be it sightseeing, shoppings, visiting all yhings Gaudi or just strolling Barcelona's walkways and beaches. Rooms are spacious and the continental breakfast will start you on your way.

Excellent and freindly staff, fluent in English and more than willing to assist you. This B&B fills up quickly, so you need to book early.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the seconf floor where the dining hall is located.

This place is simply perfect. This is comparable to a 4 star design hotel, it is listed as bed and breakfast just because you don't have someone at the reception all the time (which is actually not true since each time I needed, there was someone ready to help).

Great service, lots of useful tips from the owner regarding restaurants and places to visit, and even when we got food poisoning on the last day the owner helped us with medicines and let us stay in our room a bit longer after our check out.

The room (double queen) had own air conditioning, modern bathroom with very good shower and a very big and comfy bed + wifi + flat screen television.

One only very very minor point is that there could have been more vegetables for breakfast rather than just bread+cheese+ham.

If you like high standard design hotels, this is the place for you in Barcelona.

We stayed three nights in this boutique hotel and simply loved it.
The appartment was modern, pratical and charming. We had a bedroom for us and our son stayed in the living room. We tried some excellent restaurants in Barcelona and did not have a chance to use the fully equipped kitchen. It was clean and cosy. We felt at home right away. Yessica, Tatiana and Bianca were very professional and friendly and made us feel at home right away. we will definitely come back.

My husband and I stayed at the 5rooms in Barcelona for 2 nights during the Easter Holidays. Having checked it out on TripAdvisor and following a recommendation in the press we were not disappointed. It has a central location, great for exploring the city. The room we had was spacious and airy with modern furnishings, wood floors and exposed brickwork. The staff were discrete, knowledgable and helpful. There are now 12 rooms arranged like apartments on different floors which makes it feel like you have your own pied de terre in the city. Breakfast was basic continental but adequate for our needs. There is an honesty box for the communal mini-bar. We had a lovely stay, not least because the weather was glorious!

Everything previous reviews say is true. The rooms are very large, with soothing decor and very comfortable beds. Nice bathroom with good quality toiletries. Very lovely staff who go out of their way to make you happy, and truly seem to enjoy doing so. Two minor quibbles -- no safe in room or at front desk (but we had no problem keeping valuables there) and yes, they do provide drinks for guests but there is a charge for them at the end of your stay, which was not explained up front. And yes, they still only provide apples. Small issues for a stay which was very comfortable. And you cant beat the location. Be aware that staff is not always on premises.

My family stayed here for two nights before going up to France for a fortnight's holiday. I chose this after many hours' research as Barcelona is very expensive and you don't tend to get good value from hotels.

The 5 Rooms has a surprising amount of space in the rooms themselves, in the bathrooms and in the common areas. It is beautifully deocrated and has a very calming effect on one after a busy day traipsing around the city. It is also in an ideal spot in terms of walking distance from numerous places we wanted to see, namely the Gaudí houses, the Barri Gòtic, the Passeig de Gràcia and the Ramblas.

I slept very well here as it is quiet, which is amazing considering the central location, and I found the bed extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were pretty good but I think more could be done with this in terms of variety.

The owner is helpful and she emphasises the fact that this isn’t a hotel and so guests should not expect 24-hour service. It is important for those considering staying here to understand that this is a B&B. The price might seem very high for such a place but I think it is worth it, compared to what you get in the hotels.

I would not recommend this place to those with younger children (ours are 12 and 15) nor to people who need a lot of care and attention when on holiday. I would strongly recommend it to those interested in art, independent travel and peaceful nights in big cities.

Quiet street and building, tasteful and well appointed rooms and bath with nice decorating touches. Very comfortable beds, large shower, Excellent breakfast. Pleasant and informative reception. Unpretentious but confident and professional all the way around. This is the over night stay option in Barcelona and one of the best anywhere in Europe.
