“Overall great experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014

We stayed at Erasmus for 7 nights and found it perfectly comfortable for our needs. It is located literally two minutes walk from lesseps metro station, which gets you anywhere you want to go. Rooms are basic, but have all the necessities. Staff was welcoming and efficient. We also appreciated the shared kitchen. The only downside was the wifi, which turned out to be available only in the common area. Not having wifi access in the rooms is really something they should mention clearly in their description. If it wasn't for this tiny issue, I would have given them 5 stars and not 4.

Room Tip: I know some of the room have a lovely little terrace .Ours didn't, so I guess you can try and as...

Located somewhat from the cities' centre, but still very good. Near to the Gaudi parc and the metro line close to Erasmus easily takes you to the main spots in BCN.
What was especially convenient for us is that they have a private car-park for about 25 per night. That is excellent when you're on holidays and spend two or three days in BCN with your car full of camping-gear.

We also brought our own bikes. BCN is cyclist-friendly, and quite flat. So if you have bikes?? Don't hesitate to use them.

Our room was a bit clinical, and breakfast may look a bit sober, but hey... really nothing to 'complain' about. It's just perfect for a few days! coffee, juice, cereals, bread, cheese, ham, everything a cityhopper needs for a start of the day!

We would defenitely recommend going here.. actually have done that to people at our campsite. They go there tomorrow. :-)

We were a party of four and although we requested twin rooms we were given one large room in the second building. The air conditioning was ineffective and there were 64 children staying. Unfortunately on the first night they were running around yelling and banging on our doors until 11.30pm. Our balcony was next to a fire door, which was permanently open so we had people coming onto our balcony so couldn't leave the balcony door open. We could not use the wifi as it was out of order and there were no hairdryers as promised. The room was cleaned daily and sheets and towels changed. Breakfast was fine and ample in quantity. The hotel was in a good location and it was easy to access all the sights.

Room Tip: The main building seemed in a better condition than in the second building, which seemed to house la...

Our only problem with this hotel was that our room (#325) had a sliding window overlooking the hotel's sundeck and the window did not lock, so it was very easy to just slide it open from the outside and step into the room. We also had to keep the drape closed completely for any privacy, which blocked all the natural light. We asked for a new room and the staff moved us the next day. (Meanwhile, they kept our passports, etc. locked in their safe.) The next room they moved us to had the same problem with the sliding window not locking, but it wasn't an issue because there was no way anyone could have accessed it from outside. We got the impression they weren't going to fix the window locks - they said security just wasn't a problem. The neighborhood felt quite safe, but I don't like an unsecured room! The hotel was otherwise fine - very clean and in a great location close to metro and restaurants, with a little market just across the street. The breakfast buffet was just ok - cold cereal, white bread, limited fruit, a platter of one type of cheese and cold cuts, and the usual beverage choices.

Room Tip: I would make sure the windows are secure (or inaccessible) and if you want privacy, ask for a room t...

Can be classed as a reasonable hotel or an exceptional hostel.

Residencia Erasmus Gracia is located slightly out of the city centre, but highly accessible on the metro. It is less than a 5 minute walk from Lesseps station (on the green line) and it is quite easy to get the metro if you are coming to Barcelona by either train or air. The rooms have no safes, so it is advisable to have locks on your bags and to hand all valuables (passports and tickets etc) to the reception as they have a safe there.

The rooms are pretty basic, but very very sterile and clean. The hotel is cleaned often and this is one of the selling points. The common areas are very good. They have a living room with computers and couches and a mini library. If the weather is nice, you can also sit in the garden. This is more live a paved open area, but is nice to sit out and have a few beers. There is also a communal kitchen with a fridge and all other appliances. The rooms either have twin or double beds and an old fashion tv. However, it seems unlikely that you would go to Barcelona to spend 15 hours a day in your room!

If you are staying here, it is well worth exploring Gracia one evening. There are a number of good local bars. Las Ramblas is also only a short metro ride away. The hotel is located very near Park Guell, but be warned, the walk there is uphill. Well worth a visit though.

We had the breakfast here, but it is extremely basic. Ham, cheese, cereal, bread, jam, 1 type of fruit, juice, tea and coffee. Only EUR 4, so can’t expect much.

All in all, this is a very affordable place which is safe and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Good hotel, clean and nice room, excellent wi-fi. Staff was ok. Close to metro station and supermarkets. Hotel is in part of the city called Gracia - very nice part of the city, quiet and not crowded with tourusts. But taxi to the airport is not so cheap (we had had to use it because of early flight) - 45 eur.

Room Tip: rooms with terrace are great

We stayed in this hostel in September 2013 and since then I have stayed in two other hotels when going back to Barca- neither of them coming close to this place!

The standard of the rooms is very high, the room was spacious with a lot of storage space and air conditioning is included in the room rate. The room was very clean and tidy and we could get great access to the Wifi if needed. We had a very pleasant stay.

The staff at the reception desk were very helpful and there is a locker area if you check out but need to keep your luggage safe before going to the airport- this is very handy.

The hostel itself is in a great location- the Torrent de l'Olla has some lovely little bakeries along it and you can sit in one of the many Plazas and eat your breakfast outside.

About 10 minutes walk down from the hostel there is a lovely square with some cafes- one selling amazing toasted sandwiches and burgers and they are open until late- ideal when we checked in at 11pm and hadn't eaten anything for hours!

I would definitely stay here again and certainly recommend this for others to stay here too- it is great value and with the metro stop near by, it is quick to get into the main part of Barcelona.
