This restaurant is a traditional and must-visit institution in Barcelona. I advise reservations ~ both kinds: Plan ahead and pick your dishes carefully. We had several dishes. Those that were excellent were the specials of the day, particularly seafood plates. But we were very disappointed in the famous "Rich Man's Paella" which I termed "Poor man's Leftovers." The rice was dry, under seasoned, sticky and tasteless. The seafood was sparse, stale and dry. The sausage textured like sawdust. It was the worst dish I ate in a week in Barcelona ~ and the fresh fish were among the best. I suspect the Paella was at least a day old.
The restaurant is large, picturesque, an excellent wine list with lively, professional and well managed staff. These folks know how to run a large establishment. Well done!
