“Awesome find. ”
Reviewed 15 December 2013 via mobile

We had a great meal at Mama's. Honestly, we were just walking and it looked rather cool from the outside. The food was great and the service was that of a 5 star restaurant. Very attentive.

Will be returning to this place.

“Great recommendation by our hotel!”
Reviewed 20 October 2012 via mobile

The 3 course set menu for dinner was delicious and very cheap, $36 euro including two drinks and the meal was large. Friendly and fast service, seek this place out!

“Worth a detour”
Reviewed 7 September 2012

This review is based on the supper and it's menu (it might be different for the dinner).

We were walking on the Calle Doctor Dou when we saw this restaurant. It was late, e were hungry so we decided to stop there.

The owner was very welcoming, he found us a place very quickly. To eat we had the choice between a menu (3 course menu) for 15.20€ or different different courses (around 6€ to 9€). We have opted for the menu, a glass of red wine and some water (around 20€ each).

We also appreciated that the owner offered us some humus with som toast as we arrived and the bread was free during the meal (we usually had to paid a supplement of 0.50€ in other restaurants).

“Bit of a hidden gem.”
Reviewed 20 March 2012

I have been there twice now for lunch, and the set menu (€9) both times, and both times, I cannot fault. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable.

It has a great atmosphere, and is very catalan: the menú was in catalan, the food was typically catalan, the waiters and diners were all catalan, and everyone was speaking catalan.. We were quite obviously the only tourists. And because of that, I almost feel like I shouldn't review it, as it would be shame to see it overrun with tourists like so many other places. But at the same time, its so good that it deserves recognition!

The slight downside if any, was that it was all a bit rushed. But it's understandable, given that the restaurant was packed both times and it was mainly people dining out on their lunch break.

I would definitely recommend this place.

“Delicious food but no music”
Reviewed 14 January 2012

Went for a meal for two here with my girlfriend, arrived around 9:30-10pm on a Saturday evening and we found a table easily. We both went for the set menu of the evening which cost €15.20 each. For starters we had ravioli filled with brie and onion chutney which was really nice, I had roasted vegetable spaghetti dish which tasted kind of oriental and it was also nice. For main course I had Andalucian octopus with asparagus salad which was delicious. My girlfriend had the veal steak which she found tough but I liked it. For desert we recommend the chocolate cake with ice cream. A glass of wine cost €2.75 and we also ordered patatas bravas which cost just under €4 and it was probably the best I've had. The waitress was also very friendly and spoke English.

The only downside was the lack of atmosphere, there was no music playing. All we could hear was the air conditioning and a bit of Spanish chatter.
