Description: Kynoto Sushi Bar, is a location where you can enjoy high quality sushi, prepared on the spot and combined with local dishes. All this in a relaxed atmosphere where a special attention is paid to the service and where our customers feel as comfortable as if they were at home. Only six tables on the upper floor and three counters on the lower floor where you can watch the sushi chef prepare the food, make Kynoto unique.

Went here on account of excellent reviews, and was rather disappointed.

We ordered the Yaki Soba, the raved about dragon roll, and some sashimi. Food arrived quite slow (25 min for sushi) - but there were about 8 people dining, and the place was quite small, so we didn't mind so much. However, the wait was not worth it.

The Yaki Soba was absolutely awful, and completely the opposite of what it was claiming to be - the noodles were super sweet - they were made with store-bought teriyaki sauce (not yaki soba), and were not made with yaki soba noodles!

The sushi was decently priced, which was nice, and came in pieces that were typically large by Barcelona standards. However, both of us agreed that the fish could have been fresher.
The dragon roll was very bland - not sure what the rave reviews were about...

On the plus side, the staff were friendly, if not occasionally inattentive. The setting, cosy and cute, as the other reviewers said.

Overall, we wouldn't recommend this restaurant - El Bari Gothic has far, far more interesting places to go to.

We went to kynoto after reading the reviews about it being a romantic little place with excellent sushi sadly we were pretty disappointed.

Being sushi and japanese food lovers we jump at a chance to dine in these kinds of resaurants and
with such great reveiws we were hoping to get something special, now in fairness the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the sushi was really only very average and so overpriced it left a sour taste in our mouths

The setting.
The setting can be described as cozy but I would not go as far as to say it's overly romantic other than it's dimly lit which i guess could be a romantic bonus for some if your partners on the shabby looking side, On a positive note, upstairs is clean and nice to dine in.

The food.
We had the raved about dragon roll, it was fresh but not overly flavorsome, the same could be said for the tataki tuna and some of the starters.the portion sizes were very small. Wine was good nothing wonderful and all of this would all be mildly ok if the prices matched the quality and quantity

I expect being in the center of Barcelona things are going to be a little over the top with prices set for tourists but my partner and I have traveled 5 continents and close to 40 countries this year including expensive cities like new York, Paris and London and we both agree this was the worst value for money we have had for a meal in a very very long time.

Meal was amazing, owner was super nice and helpful - we were the last people in the restaurant and he let us stay past closing.
The sushi was incredible, wine well priced and atmosphere romantic and intimate and relaxed.

Would highly recommend it!
