I understand that people should be proud of the work they do, whatever it is, being a bank clerk or a "chef de cuisine". But to boast in the menú that your "arroz con bogavante" is "probably the best worldwide" specially if the dish is, at most, average has no sense. People expect something different, sublime. And, definitively, it is not. I have had, in Barcelona, better rices of this kind - paella parellada with lobster, or arroz caldoso with some kind of shellfish -.

We had some tapas as starters, and they were not bad... Nothing to sound trumpets too, anyway.

So, if you are in the Glorias area, it is a correct restaurant, with a correct price/quality ratio. But it does not deserve a detour

“Treated like royalty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2011

We were so spoilt by the manager (owner?) of this restaurant when we visited, on the Friday evening before the Merce weekend. Such a lovely change to be so welcomed! Jaded indifference was shown to us as foreigners elsewhere for our stay in Barcelona.

Food was lovely. Bread and fried green peppers arrived as complimentary.
Tasty grilled vegetables for entree.
Luxurious lobster paella (must be for 2) and it was a delight - deep mushroomy rice and sweet lobster - yum! I even managed 2 of the locally produced sorbets for dessert (only just though!). Basil and strawberry - who'd have though that combo would be so good!

Bill for 2 of us came to 92 euro. I thought was pretty good value (note that I am from Ireland, where everything is SO overpriced) , mainly because a large part of the bill was for the delicious local Catalunya red wine called 'Dido'. I definitely recommend that one, feel like a glass of that right now in fact..

Highly recommended. Service exceptional.

Booking probably a good idea, was full quite soon after we arrived. Opens at 9 pm. By then you should be hungry enough to eat that serving paella :) Website only in Spanish.
