Its clean and bright , easy to walk and with a lot of rare specialties to bring home, also a very good restaurant with very fresh products from the market. a bit pricy but worth it.

The market is spotless and there is a big variety of food shops, everything from fish, to meat, cheese, etc. plus a couple of restaurants. This Market is not mobbed by tourists, which I think is a definite advantage. !

This market is loaded with fresh seafood and every cut of meat you can imagine. Everyday it was loaded with locals and it was clear this is how fresh food is meant to be bought in Barcelona. The vendors were courteous and the prices were fair. Our favorite part of the market were the small cafes where we had a fantastic breakfast at more than reasonable prices. The servers always made us feel very welcome and took great care of us-our language barrier never once interfering with a great experience.

After visiting the busy and expensive La Boqueria market off La Rambla, this market is perfect for good prices, good food and great atmosphere. We stopped in for a few things to make a dinner at our rented apartment and all the shop keepers were very friendly. It was interesting to order in the metric system but we figured it out. We got lots of jamon, chorizo, eggs, onion, red peppers, peaches and cheese for about 25 euros. A great deal.
