“Cosy and tasty”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

This place is very nice and colorful home restaurant. There are a lot of people. You need to stay in line to come in. The prices are law, the dishes are unusial and tasty. They cook rather quick.

“No nonsense. Good and simple food.”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

If you want some simple and down-to-earth, but good local food, this is the place to go. There was a queue of people waiting for the 8pm sharp opening. Seating is basic. Service is simple and swift. Food was fresh and very tasty. Good portion size. We ordered a tad too much to share between four - hake (fried), red mullet (fried), mackerel (fried), grilled squid, with tomato bread and a combo side dish of peppers, aubergine, tomato and chips.

Would I go again? Yes.

“DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

If you are looking for very basic all-fried food in a hectic envrionment...then go to Can Mano. We visited based on raving reviews on trip advisor but it was the worst place we ate all holiday. A 30 min wait on the street outside had us excited considering the busy atmosphere, we also appreciated the 1930's style environment and crazy service. But the food was so basic and just all fried and quite bland. After finishing we were left feeling grotty from all the grease and rather unimpressed. For desert my girlfriend ordered 'fruits' expecting maybe a fruit salad or similar....she ended up with a orange and a knife. Only positive was the cheapest estrella we had all holiday.

This place is built on word of mouth....but we cannot fathom how successful it is after our visit.

“Very Good Value For Money”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Get there early if you don't want to wait for a table for quite a while. If you don't you will have all the fun to drink beers on the pavement while you wait for a table to become available. The food is very good and at a fair price. it's a small restaurant located in the Barceloneta which used to be a fishermen neighbourhood. Very authentic and simple. I highly recommand it.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

Decided to go to Can Mano after reading good reviews. Had difficulty finding it - even with the GPS, but we just needed to look out for the queue!. Waiter acknowledged us in the queue and signalled an accurate 10 mins wait (no English spoken here which was a good sign). No credit cards were accepted here either (May 2014), so you may want to check before sitting down.

Seating is basic, more like a traditional cafe layout and hygiene seemed OK. Food is not for the faint hearted (in every sense). Although we had seafood, including squid, much of it is deep fried but accompanied by the obligatory salad and dressings. Service was swift and the food plentiful and tasty, although not something I could have on a regular basis… unfortunately!

The two of us really enjoyed the selection of food - had a bottle of wine between us and the bill was around 25 euros.

As stated in the title, it's worth a visit… at least once.
