I was taking a train from Valencia through Cerbere to Paris, so I wanted to break up the trip by stopping overnight in Girona. After reading about the hotel's proximity to the train station, I decided to stay here. And it was a good choice. It's a basic hotel, and I knew that from the reviews and the price, so I was not disappointed. The clerks were friendly and responsive. In fact, the person who checked me in had studied in Canada for a year, so we had a pleasant chat.

There's a small elevator, which was handy for luggage but I just walked since it was faster:) The room was clean and small. The bed was comfortable enough and there was hot water in the shower.

Perhaps the only complaint that I have is that the walls are thin, so although the other guests weren't rowdy, I could hear the muffled chattering from other rooms, the loud rush of water from the pipes, and the rumbling of luggage wheels in the corridors.

The continental breakfast was reasonable for 5 Euros.

I left at 5:30 the following day so I had the evening of my arrival and a full day of exploring the beautiful medieval centre of Girona. It was interesting to walk in the narrow streets at night. I was a bit nervous walking in the dark at first but there were police officers patrolling the cathedral area to the bridges.

I was there on the last day of the San Narciso Festival so I had a chance to see the fair in the centre. I liked Girona and will be back and will probably stay at Hotel Europa again.

Bed was clean as was the room. A bit on the cold side in late March The wifi was very vexing indeed, could only be used in the public area and was slow and often cut out altogether. After reading reviews I requested a soft pillow and got, not one but, two!! My friend was very grateful. The biggest plus point was the very close location to the train station.

When booking this hotel keep in mind that it is a 2 star hotel. The room I stayed in was small, basic but spotlessly clean and it suited my needs for three nights.

The room was on the fifth floor and accessed by a small lift. There was a faint musty smell in the room on arrival but this seemed to disappear after I opened the window and had been in there for a while. The bed was vey firm. The bathroom appeared to be new and the shower was excellent. Towels were replaced each day.

It was very noisy first thing in the morning, as although the room was at the back of the hotel it was located directly under what would seem to be the owners accommodation. I could hear the distinctive tones of the washing machine on the spin cycle.

There is free Wi-Fi available but on the fifth floor it was very intermittent and it was easier to come down to the spacious guest lounge near reception to access it.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, with some speaking better English than others. But this hotel's main attraction is it's proximity to the bus and train station! Just a five minute walk. Girona itself is a lovely town with a good feel to it and a great base to explore the surrounding region.

Stayed here while in transit and was impressed with the convenience to the bus and train station
ie 5 uncomplicated minutes of walking max. Rooms functional but clean and not miniscule. No aesthetic appeal tho. Most impressive was the level of help and friendliness from the receptionist who went well beyond the call of duty to seek information and give advice and guidance when one of us had a dental emergency. While it is not particularly well located for the historic centre of Girona neither are a lot of the other hotels. Also often being beside the train station means being in a seedy part of town, this is not the case for the Europa which is on a shopping street in an area which felt safe and busy.

Excellent location: just few steps from main train and bus station. We landed at Girona very late at night, so it was ideal cause it is very easy to find and not far to carry bags.
Hotel is good, rooms are clean, hot water late in the night.
We were also allowed to leave bags in morning on reception to see Girona before leaving to Barcelona.
Receptionist was very kind!

We stayed in Hotel Europa for 3 nights, and it was perfect for a short stay. The room is very small, and beds and pillows are very uncomfortable, and the walls are very thin but the room was really clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a few problems on the first night, but the staff sorted them out very quickly. Very close to the train station and also close to the center and the shops.
