“A little rough round the edges”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

I can understand why this place gets varied reviews, we had a mixed experience.

It's well positioned in the main pedestrian area, and the waiters were friendly and attentive - but only when they remembered. They were distracted at times, and could neglect customers without realising. A bit more attention to detail required.

The food was pretty good for the price. It could have been really good, again with just a slight bit more effort. The soup was nice but warm not hot, the toasted garlic bread very nice though. The meat was patchy at best. Deserts more of a disaster.

Just about worth a chance for the location.

“Surprisingly good”
Reviewed 16 October 2013

My daughter and I ate here and, although it looks like it's going to be a bit touristy and not so good, it was actually really good - great pesto linguini and pizza here. The service was a little grumpy but I've found that tends to be the case in Catalunya - still a beautiful place to visit in spite of this though :-).

“Acceptable and do check the bill”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

Situated in a pedestrian area with shaded tables. Staff very friendly and helpful. Quite a large range of dishes to choose from. Food was just average, Do carefully check your bill. We had been charged for our main courses plus 2 additional courses plus an additional bottle of water.
We pointed this out and they examined our table and eventually removed these extra items from the bill which amounted to over 20 Euros.

“flattered to deceive”
Reviewed 22 August 2013

on our first visit to this restaurant we we had shoulder of lamb with mashed potato(very hard to get in girona and peppers.this was delicious, the staff could not do enough for us and were wonderful but what a difference the following night.we decided to have steak,it came with just chips and nothing else.without a doubt it was the worst steak we had ever had almost impossible to cut it was so tough.when we complained the waiters shrugged and said they did not speak English, funny how the previous night they spoke perfect English any way thay brought two glasses of wine as compensation, seeing we we had already bought a bottle of wine this did not exactly thrill us.needless to say we did not return.in all honesty I could not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

“Place to stop and rest”
Reviewed 30 June 2013

You will be spoiled for choice at the Arcades as there is a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. Most have a set menu for around 15 euros, which is 3 courses and most serve tapas.
