There are plenty of restaurants in the Ramblas, Gerona, but this one I think is probably the best bet. You get hustled in as you walk by, but not over-aggressively and with multilingual wit! There's often a range of menus to celebrate one of the endless procession of festivals in the city. We got the flower one. The value is extraordinary. There were 15 and 17 euro dinner menus on the night we visited, with a good choice of interesting Spanish options. Portions are decent. Presentation is interesting. On the 17 euro menu, you can have drink supplements at rock-bottom prices e.g. Sangria at 3e a jug (90c a glass); beer also at 90c and, best of all, perfectly drinkable local wine at 3e a bottle. After a week of inflated prices in the south of France, this was, in every way, very refreshing. Service is invariably cheerful. I simply don't recognise the "grumpy" comment recently tabled. They serve till 11.00. Not Michelin standard, but well worth a try.
