So although their name is AC they do not honor the free breakfast for Marriott gold since that apparently their AC logo does not mean autograph collection. Also AC apparently does not stand for air conditioning since that did not work well either. The room minibar does indeed have soft drinks, but only one of each kind nor beer as another tripadvisor reviewer suggested. The internet did not work in the room we were in. The hotel was clean however. Consider it a clean Motel "that other chain". NOT Marriott quality. Thought of staying another night since we leave from Girona to Mallorca after touring the costa brava, but will not.

Room Tip: room have no view

The best thing about this hotel is the price. We paid €105 a night for a generously sized and genuinely two-roomed suite in the high season. It was well equipped, attractively furnished and decorated, and the minibar (beers, juices and water) is free. That is good value.

There is a panoramic view across the town (but not the old town) to the Pyrenees. But this only enjoyable from the somewhat bleak terrace at the front of the hotel, which gets baking hot during the summer afternoons. Rooms look out onto a car park or onto other rooms.

The hotel is wholly devoid of facilities. There is no pool (though there is plenty of room for one) or area where one could sunbathe. There is no fitness centre, and there is not even a garden (because all the space is given over to car parks). There is no proper bar, though drinks can be ordered from the kitchen. There is supposed to be a restaurant, but it was not open any of the evenings we were there, so food was limited to ‘bar meals’ only. The staff were friendly and helpful, but (as others have noted) seldom visible.

The reason for the lack of facilities is that the space is given over to conference and meeting rooms (not much used when we were there), and to parking therefor. The result is that it feels more like a conference centre than a hotel. A good base from which to explore Girona if you don't mind the steep walk back up to the hotel afterwards. But not a hotel where you can relax and enjoy yourself. And nothing like 5-star!

The hotel is attractive from the outside and to be fair the rooms were very satisfactory and decent size bathroom. The main issue comes with the lack of atmosphere and most importantly the lack of staff, particularly for a hotel of this supposing standard! We stayed for 2 nights and on the first night had to wait over 20 minutes for the waiter to arrive at the bar despite being summoned by walkie talkie by the reception!! And even when he did arrive we had the feeling it had inconveinenced him having to serve us, not something would expect from a hotel of this alledged rating. The free parking was good but the hotel is quite difficult to find unless you know where you are going, make sure you take directions with you before you go!!

Room Tip: Wouldnt expect any particular room to have an exceptional outlook

We arrived for a short two night stay at this hotel which is a 25 minute bus ride away from the airport then a 5 minute taxi ride up from the centre. The hotel is really nice and very modern. The terrace is wonderful with some great views over the city. It is a 10 minute walk (downhill) to the edge of the old town which is the other side of the old wall. Ask reception for a map. There is a very small local bar half way which is fine for drinks and snacks on the climb back. The old wall is a really nice walk. You can access it at any of the ends that you can see on the map. Great for photo opportunities.
The old town is lovely to walk around with some nice shops and bars. There are lots of small streets to wander around; the architecture is a real treat.

Back to the hotel. Lovely bedroom, very comfortable, fresh and very clean. Sadly no view!! The crazy thing about this place is there is no pool. There is enough room within the grounds to easily build an Olympic sized pool but no, some bright spark forgot to tell the architect!! So picture our day, up after a good night sleep in a fab room. A walk down at 9:30 to the old town, walking and shopping and snacking until the shops close around 2pm and the heat starts to take its toll. A hot but steady walk back up to the lovely hotel to chill out for 3 hours or so but wait, no pool!! No leisure facilities at all. A lovely terrace but it’s really hot and on a Saturday afternoon in 30+oC heat there is nobody sat out there.
I would recommend Girona for a short break. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel especially if you can grab a good rate. But if it had a small pool I would be happy to stay longer and base myself here to explore the region.

Stayed with wife and daughter for two nights, no breakfast (better price downtown, 10min walk). Extra bed for kid supplied at slight extra charge. Very clean, modern style big room and bathroom - excellent value for money. Would stay here again. Town centre close nearby, hotel has lots of parking. Staff polite and proper.
