Very comfortable hotel with modern facilities.
We only stayed one night and didn't take advantage of much on offer, but we would stay there again under similar circumstances.

Beautiful hotel high on a hill. If you are driving, even the GPS gets confused. Definitely need a navigator and printed directions. Route up the hill is on small winding streets, so don't recommend you arrive in the dark. Can't miss it once it is within view. Dramatic architecture, free parking, great views from the public areas. Rooms were elegantly simple and uncluttered. Extra touches include FREE (really) minibar products (including beer, juice, water, and soda), plus robes and slippers. Free internet, but only 1 machine available. Beds very comfy. Our experience with the staff was excellent. However, the walk into the new part of town is 10-15 minutes downhill (then coming back, a little steeper) through a nice residential neighborhood. But to go into old town is another 10-15 minutes walk. We stayed there on our way to and from Figueres (Dali museum)and didn't get to spend too much time in town, which supposedly has a lot of charm. However, trying to find dinner became a challenge. The dinners at the hotel were quite pricey (25 euros apiece), and there really wasn't anything other than sandwich shops open until 8:30 or 9 p.m. No tapas bars within 20 minutes walking that we could find. So either eat before you settle in or be prepared for a long walk to somewhere else to eat. Don't recommend driving into the city, because parking is an issue. Otherwise, really enjoyed hotel.

Lobby and room were great. Staff was only so-so. They were young and seemed inexperienced, and at times, not interested. Quite a contrast to the 5 star nature of the building.

I stayed here with my cycling group in October 2009. The staff were extrememly friendly and accomodating. We stored bikes in their nice conference rooms, they served us a special lunch 2 hours before the restaurant opened, let us print and copy maps with no charge and they allowed us to bring our own masseuse into the rooms. The views, comfortable rooms and free minibar speak for themselves. It's service with a smile that makes a difference.
