“Gimmicky but good food”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

We've been here a couple of times and on both occasions the food has been good, the room lacks a bit of atmosphere, but on both occasions it has been early season, so may be better with more customers in, on my last visit I had a great plate of jamon Iberico, followed by a fantastic goats cheese salad, which is a starter but is a big plate of fresh salad and lovely goats cheese plenty for a main, I've also tried the half grilled rabbit which was really fantastic too, along with this they also serve at the begining of the meal great tomato bread. The gimmick is DIY steaks,, sealed in the kitchen then you finish them on a hot stone at the table, which Im assured are good, I would rather have them cooked in the kitchen and bought out ready to eat, well it is a holiday. Service was really great and all the staff made a great effort to ensure all the table were kept filled with great wine and food.

“Not what it looks like on first glance”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

The rather drab facade and curious Bavarian interior with scattered ceramic gnomes straight from the brothers Grimm could mislead. The staff are efficient and extremely attentive. The menu is excellently executed Spanish and fish / steak type fayre and would suit any occasion. The restaurant boasts an extensive wine cellar and wines are very well priced with Priorat and interesting Ribera del Douro for under €30. We have eaten here many times and it is always fun with charming service. Prices have taken a hike this year it seems - but so have they in many other restaurants.

“Excellent mid-day menu”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

Go a lot to Sitges and nearly always come here for lunch. There's an excellent set menu at 14€ with 2 courses, dessert and wine. Just recently had the "bacalao a la llauna" - cod catalan style- served with white beans for second course and it was delicious. Its a very nice restaurant, very well decorated and nice ambience. Service is excellent. With our bill we were brought sweet wine and sweet cakes. We always enjoy it here. You can tell it's good as there are always a lot of locals eating there.

“How could we have missed it for 14 years”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

We have a house close by and must have walked past hundreds of times over the last 14 years. Its not spectacular from the outside but with El Velero closed down we were looking for somthing of a similar standard.

We had crocetas between us to start and they were the best I've ever tasted. We followed with steaks and the meat was perfect and cooked just as requested.

~The surroundings are much larger than would be expected from the view outside and fairly opulent. The service was also very good. Wine list well produced with the grape use for each wine specified. Not cheap but worth every penny.

We will certainly return.

“Excellent quality”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

Large and interesting portions. Fish cooked to perfection. Price a little higher than other places around, but well worth it.
