“Stunning Sitges”
Reviewed 20 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Wow, what can I say, my English son married his American sweetheart and we had family from both sides of the Atlantic stay at Casa Nova for the wedding and a short 7 days holiday. The road leading up to the villa was fun, but the villa itself, the views, the amenities and everything about it was simply stunning. Its only 40mins drive from Barcelona airport and only 15 to 20 mins to the middle of beautiful Sitges, although you can find Lidle, Aldi and Caprabo shopping and restaurants at the end of the dirt mountain track about 10mins from villa. The owners were wonderful as were the staff and wedding planner on the day of the wedding. A magical time we will always cherish.

“Amazing villa with a terrible road”

Located near Barcelona and Sitges, this villa in the Parc Garaf is splendid. Fifteen people had space for dinners, cocktails, breakfasts and an infinity pool with a gorgeous view of the park.

It does have one consideration. You need a car. It is isolated in the park and the road is quite a challenge. However, it is worth it. The villa itself is spacious and well appointed. It has a large kitchen that you can use or you can have the catering company, Cloud 9, prepare your meals.
We opted for a Tapas night on our arrival and chose a cooking class for another evening that was great fun.

The infinity pool is beautiful and surrounded by sufficient lounges to accommodate all of us. The patio area became a favorite breakfast spot for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The outside dining porch accommodates 24 people. We ate on the porch every night. The barbecue grill provided several meals, but most cooking was done in the well equipped kitchen.

The bedrooms were comfortable, but the twin bedded room on the mezzanine is best suited for children. My adult grandsons were a tad crowded!

You can take the train to Barcelona from Sitges to connect to the Barcelona Metro. Our group generally split into several groups. Some did the train and metro while others drove the short distance to Barcelona. Barcelona is a great city. There is so much to see and do that dragging yourself away from the beautiful beaches in Sitges is a real challenge. The only drawback was the road is so narrow and bumpy that no one wanted to eat our and have to drive back after dark. Fortunately we have great cooks and our food was fabulous, but I did miss going out to restaurants in the evening.

We opted to have housekeeping services daily and Sally was a dream. We all wanted to adopt her and take her home with us. Chef Allan was wonderful to work with in setting up the cooking class and providing the superb tapas. Our every request received a quick and positive response, from an explanation on how to turn on the industrial oven to fixing a balky air conditioner.

The villa is so beautiful, the city of Barcelona so wonderful and the people in charge at the villa so responsive everyone had a fantastic time.

By the way, you do get accustomed to driving the road and admiring the brave bicyclists driving through the park while you quietly allow them to pass.

Awesome villa and surroundings! Plenty of room and still intimate, tasteful decorating, fairylike garden and pool area. The owners are warm personalities with attention for detail and very service focussed! A unique place for holiday or wedding. We will be back! Mariëlle and Ludo

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 17 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We were part of a party that hired the house for a wedding with 20 occupants, although the stay was pleasant with good facilities we found compared to the description it fell very short of our expectations we expected luxury & got ok! The photographs are very misleading everything looks twice as big as reality, the house & grounds are very comfortable & well looked after but the communal lounge between the kitchen & tv room was half the size of the kitchen. We stayed in a "garden room" again bed was comfortable, bedding, air conditioning & en suite adequate but the room was very small, no wardrobes just a few hooks on the wall, plus a small cupboard with shelves that was so close to the bed I could hardly open it. Only drawers were in 2 small bedside tables 1 each totally inadequate for a weeks stay & furniture was really shabby I think they were going for a distressed look but didn't pull it off, the toilet was loose & felt as though it was going to break any minute, no soap holder in shower or toilet roll holder just missing little touches that make life easier.
They should be called basement rooms, just a wasteland no garden at back of house with a stone steps & path that were dangerous in the dark there were lights on the ground outside the rooms but these did not reach the steps
Also, the moments from the beach was a 20 minute taxi ride, if you could get one, the track up to house was so bad many refused to come & those that did charged double!
if we hadn't paid a premium price for our stay we would have thought ok not so bad but having paid for luxury it was very disappointing.
