The Hotel is a couple of minutes walk away from the nearby Renfe Railway Station and the Mon-Bus stop if you travelled into Sitges by Bus. There is no need to hire a taxi into Sitges, the public transport options (train and bus are excellent from whichever Barcelona Airport you arrive form). The Hotel was situated on Calle Jose (Carrer de Sant Josep in Catalan) just off the busy Passeig de Vilanova. The entrance and reception area was immaculate and very well presented. It had a very old authentic Spanish feel to it. We were greeted by a very friendly Hotel Receptionist who checked us in and provided all the information that we needed for our stay. We paid for a safety deposit box, which is 3 euros per day hire and a 25 euros deposit was also required to hire this. We got this returned to us in full and hassle free when we checked out. We were also charged 2 euros as part of an accommodation tax that has been enforced by the Catalan Government. Copies of Passport/National ID cards are also taken at Reception.
The Receptionist noticed that it was my Birthday on arrival and arranged in front of us to receive a complimentary bottle of bubbly, which was a lovely gesture! We used the elevator to the fourth floor and found our room. The room was small, but was certainly enough for a weekend stay. It had twin beds. Furniture was old, but fit in with the charm of the place. The balcony was a very good size. 2 sets of doors lead to the balcony, which are very secure. The balcony was a sun-trap and had tables and chairs. There were ample coat-hangers. Bathroom and shower were a reasonable size. Shower gel and soap was provided. Plenty of clean towels. Within minutes of arriving in the room, the maid knocked and brought in the free bubbly in a bucket of ice with 2 champagne glasses. She also wished me happy Birthday and gave me 2 kisses on the cheek, which again was lovely.
The maid service was excellent, rooms were cleaned immaculately and fresh towels provided. Breakfast was included on the trip. Breakfast was very relaxing and set in a spacious dining room. Plenty of cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, toast, bread, tea, coffee, range of fruit juices were al on offer in addition to hot food such as sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and beans. This was a pleasant surprise. During my stay, I needed use of an iron and enquired at reception. The receptionist provided me with a key to a room that had ironing facilities in with a ice cool fan above. Nothing was too much trouble for the receptionists at this Hotel. They provided ice-buckets and corkscrews upon request. All spoke good English, but do try your Spanish on them if you know any as they admire that and it's always fun to do. Reception is 24 hours and every receptionist was incredibly friendly, polite, welcoming and helpful.
The location of the Hotel is also one of this Hotel's biggest selling points. Around the corner, 2 minutes away is a mini supermarket and also a tobacco shop. Plenty of bars and restaurants are a stones throw away and all of the gay clubs and bars are within a very short walking distance, less than 5 minutes. We had a room facing the street and had no noise problems whatsoever. Very pleasant stay and would highly recommend this Hotel to anybody visiting Sitges!
