I stayed at the Hotel Galeon before, this being my 3rd time, it has been updated with decor, convenience, style and service. I was well pleased to find a great room with a very comfortable bed and modern conveniences.

Hotel Galeon now boasts extra services including;
• breakfast until 12pm
• toiletries and extras available from the front desk
• a pillow service (firm, medium, soft)
• beach towels and umbrellas on loan

It goes beyond a 3 star in my opinion with service to match, I can't recommend it enough!

booked this hotel through alpha rooms and paid only £159 for 2 people for 7 nights, this was an amazing price for this resort, the breakfast was the best i have ever seen, served from 7am to 12 oclock, you will not be disappointed with the choice of food available. the hotel was spotless throughout, we were in the pavillion part of the hotel which is just located through the pool area, the rooms had a small balcony with 2 chairs but not much of a view but then we wasn't in the room very much. the hotle is 2 minutes from train station and tourist information, so anything you need to know the staff spoke very good english, takes 30-40 mins to get in into barcelona depending on which station you get off at. beware the prices for food and drink around the la rambla area, very expensive. sitges is a lovely resort, beaches are amazing and so clean, would definately stay at this hotel again when visiting barcelona

Included an ample breakfast buffet, though not really anything tasty among it, plane and not memorable in spite of a flût of cava brut to flush it down. The cramped room would not allow working and appeared not having been dusted for at least 2 weeks. The bathroom was sufficiently sized and clean. Availability of a hairdryer, safe, warm water cooker and a fride justify the 3rd star. An insufficient number of plugs make the use of any electric appliance difficult. The small open-air swimming pool in the inner court yard might invite for a short plunge and a coffee machine could have been used if there had been cups but I had no time to bother about that. As often in Spain parking in the 10 lot underground garage is liable to a fee and accessible over a steep ramp from a narrow alley. My room was not in the main building, reachable on foot via a flight of unergonomic steps, the inner court yard pool area, through a heavy door, over the narrow alley, up some steps, through an other door to be opened with the card key, again up some steps to the elevator. With not lightweight luggage a bit of a drag.

The Galeon Hotel is a little gem. Very close to the bus stop and the train station with excellent connections to Barcelona and the airport. Lovely reception staff, very helpful and knowledgable. Hotel is sparklingly clean and your rooms cleaned each day with clean towels every day too. The breakfast would not shame a 5 star hotel - I can honestly say it's the best I've ever seen - and it's served up to 11am. Very civilised. The hotel is also close to the amenities, restaurants and bars, and is not far from the beach. For the price we paid we were very surprised and pleased. The hotel has just been refurbished and is very up to date. If I ever go back to Sitges I would have no hesitation in staying at the Galeon again. Sitges is very pretty with interesting narrow streets with little shops and restaurants where you least expect them. Try Le Scala where you can get the meal of the day for 8.50 euros with wine included. Lovely Chinese lady who couldn't speak any English but hey, you can make yourself understood!

If you intend to travel to Barcelona a few times buy a T10 zone 1-3 travel ticket. You can buy it at the train station in Sitges. For 10 journeys it costs 21 euros instead of the full price of 28 if you pay singly. You can use it on the bus, trains or metro in Barcelona too. Catch the Mon Bus from the airport direct to Sitges which saves going into Barcelona and then catching a train from there. The Mon Bus terminal has moved from T2 at the airport to T1 so you will have to catch a transfer bus from T2 to T1 (free). Last day bus from B'lona is 11.20pm and first night bus N30 is 1am. Catch them in Ronda Universitat just round the corner from Placa Catalunya

Really well maintained hotel which is a real bargain, especially if you come out of season. The rooms haven,t been re furbished so if your looking for glamorous decoration perhaps this is not for you. However the communal areas have had a bit of a makeover since last year and the hotel is well maintained and spotless. The breakfast in the morning is a good mix of local produce and standard tourist fare with a choice and quality of a higher star hotel.

Clientele is a mix of gay tourists, families and weekenders from other parts of Spain

We have been coming to Sitges for several years and only discovered this place two years ago.I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for budget prices with a reasonable degree of comfort.
