“New owners making a few changes. Good location, rooms etc”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

Located in a small street near the station and ten minutes walk to Sitges centre.
The new owners - Thomas & Dietmar - took over at the beginning of June 2014.
The rooms and furnishings remain much the same but you may notice a surfeit of teddy bears {Dietmar's passion}. The bedrooms are well maintained. Breakfast is a good buffet available to late for those who have partied into the morning.
Current innovations include the bar being available throughout the day and until around 10.00pm
The garden is open during the day and evening for a quiet read, a beer, or just to relax in. Breakfast is taken in the garden during dry weather.
The rooms to the rear are quieter, but there is not a lot of street noise anyway.
Several restaurants within ten minutes walk. Recommendations from the owners
The local bus routes stop close by and the RENFE station is near During the day there are four trains per hour to Barcelona.
Beach towels are available f.o.c.
Another innovation is the cocktail of the day which is carefully chosen and prepared individually. The bar is well stocked and popular with ex-pats and their Catalan friends.
A warm welcome awaits you at this hetro-friendly hotel in an old style building
Room safe and Wi-Fi f.o.c to residents (public areas and rooms)
I'll be back before long

Room Tip: I like the first floor rear rooms. They have a large shared patio for relaxing with proper seclusion...

A great welcome and made feel special by the attention of staff - a lovely 18th century period house with great atmosphere.
The only place in a while which had tea and coffee facilities as well as 2 free bottles of water

Room Tip: room was noisy but the shutters closed out street noise

I only found out about this place given that my brother lives in the area, otherwise it is certainly one of those hidden gems I'd never have stumbled across alone.
Although I haven't stayed at the hotel, I visited the cocktail bar and garden frequently.
The hotel decor is utterly intriguing, hitting a balance of both antique and contemporary with a really cool boutique ambiance.
All staff are incredibly humble and efficient, including the friendly couple owners who are just lovely.
Cocktails of the day are amazing value, served with complimentary nibbles (nothing done by halves here!) Sampled my best pina colada ever, aswell as Long Island Iced teas and blue hawaiian.
The garden is stunningly beautiful and a delightful retreat. If you're as green fingered as me, you'll enjoy spotting the many different exotic fruit trees, and nature. However, if not you'll probably sink into a blissful state of relaxation within a cool and romantic surrounding. Would be a beautiful wedding venue !

The hotel is perfectly located: very close to the stop of the bus coming/going to the airport, to the train station and to every kind of shop. 3 minutes walking to the beach. The rooms are ok. and very very clean. I slept in two different rooms, I think the ones at the first floor are better: they never get too hot (I didn't need to use air contitioned) and they have better shutters (I can't sleep when there is too much light). There is a television in the rooms but as far as could see there is anly channel working (CNN). Nice garden where you can enjoy the breakfast. There are new people running the hotel, I think they are doing a great job. They were always extremely kind and helpful during my stay. When I got home I realized that I needed a different kind of receipt and they immediately sent me another one.

This place is a little Gem. Conveniently located across from the train station and only a five minute walk to the beach. Thomas and his partner run a super friendly establishment with very personal service. The outdoor garden is wonderful as well as the drinks served there. Make sure you go for happy hour , where your second drink is only 1 euro ( just about the only thing in Sitges for 1 euro).
We will be back...........l

Great prices. Best location for any hotel in Sitges. It's just 30 seconds walk from Train station. Walk to everything: beaches, cafés, etc.

Rooms are clean and modern. I would recommend this in a heartbeat! I would stay again if I'm in Sitges.

2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2014 via mobile

We're often in Sitges, though we'd typically rent an apartment for a long stay.

It's true though that Liberty doesn't feel like a typical b&b, and the AA meetings and social activities for the elderly, taking place in the bar area, as well as the decor, make it feel like a pension.

The couple running the place were not rude to us as some have experienced, but there's little else you should expect from them.

They seem impatient and laconic. They might be in the wrong business, or tired of it.

Our room looked dated, but with a usable balcony/terrace, which sort of makes up. No kitchen, but I think there was an electric kettle.

Also should consider that rooms at the back must be all quiet, unlike the ones facing the noisy and very busy street.

IMHO, if you are looking for an authentic experience, why stay at a British/Dutch operated establishment in Spain?

Brits have the worst reputation here, and the Dutch are not very service oriented in any case.

We'll continue to prefer Spanish owned business in the future.

We found the Spaniards friendly, approachable, and very honest. There's really no need to think the language barrier poses a significant problem.
