Fantastic 3 night stay from start to finish, superior room with sea view, large room, large bed, fabulous views, great staff....what more can I say not one complaint. Value for money.
On arrival we were greeted by the owner, the reception staff were very helpful helping us with all our questions.

Room Tip: superior room with sea view is a must

We have travelled all around Europe and you always struggle to find a decent private hotel, especially one with character, friendly staff and amazing food. We had 2 rooms for 5 nights and although one of the rooms could benefit from a new bathroom, it was very clean and it had so much charm. The second room was newly refurbished and amazing. We knew we hit the jackpot when we saw the number of people eating at the restaurant, very rarely would we eat at the hotel were staying at but when the best is on your doorstep why go looking. We will definitely return, Well done guys and thanks for making our trip.

Arrived at 2 am and could not find a parking place anywhere near. The room was not big but otherwise very good. Open view to the sea and good bathroom. The hot water came quickly even though the room was on the top floor. Generally I cannot complain about the cleaning, but I did see the same specs of dust, on the floor, three days in a row. The staff was at all times very polite and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Especially the good selection of fresh fruit made me glad. There was also a very popular restaurant which I did not use, but it was said to be very good.
My reason for coming to Spain was to visit Barcelona. But Sitges proved to be such a nice town that I could easily have spent all my time (4 days) there as well. The modern and fast (about 30-40 minutes) train went to Barcelona about every 15-20 minutes. If your flight is landing at Barcelona at night, make proper arrangements in advance, to get you to Sitges. A taxi is very expensive (60-80 euro) and I had arranged to rent a car. The service of the rental company (Firefly) was, however, deplorable. We had agreed (in writing) that I would pick up the car at 23.45 and I was there. But, I only got the car after 1 am, due to many customers and only one person to serve them. Furthermore I was "forced" to sign a document stating the cost 97,05 euro, even though I had a printed confirmation that I had paid the full price (39 euro) in advance and that I was to pay 0 euro at the desk.

Room Tip: At least for me, it was essential to ask for a room with a sea view, in advance. Which I got. With a...

La Santa Maria doesn't have chrome, glitz, fancy nonsense that some would equate with luxury, It is officially rated 3 stars by the Spanish tourist board and has the amenities required for that rating - balconies, minibars, a restaurant, bar, elevator, and in-room perks such as air conditioning, safe, flat screen TV with multilingual programs, toiletries, hair drier, bidet and more.

The location is terrific - opposite the beach. The food was basic, but good. The breakfast bar was becoming of a much larger property and the staff was welcoming, extremely friendly and always ready to assist. These are not the qualities of a "basic hotel," as a Belgian reviewer has stated below, but of a superior property. (I suggest the Belgian reviewer try traveling more.)

Not that there isn't still a little room for improvement at La Santa Maria - the parking situation is unbecoming of even a two-start property. During our stay, we were forced to park in the only lot nearby (as we were told the hotel's garage was unfortunately full), which extracted a usurious 26 Euro/night from us, but as there was no other choice within walking distance, this was sadly necessary. Perhaps the hotel management could come up with an arrangement with the lot owner to reduce that fee in the future to a more typical 12-15 Euros for hotel guests.

I can only recommend La Santa Maria. Its quirky decor in the public areas, the large rooms with floor to ceiling balcony windows with unparalleled ocean views and the lovely towels all amounted to icing on the already lovely cake.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean front. Ours was in the older part of the building on the first floor.

Great Hotel, The beach promenade is in front of the hotel, so great location for the annual spring carnival, as it passes, despite lots of bars and clubs within a few minutes walk it was very quite in the hotel and in our room. Ask for a sea view room for the best view and the mountain view rooms mainly look onto other hotels and gardens behind. The breakfast was great, a huge selection of everything. The hotel was very quite when we stayed in March and the large patio at the front of the hotel restaurant was deserted. I would imagine it is a lot busier in the summer due to its location on the front of the beach looking out to the sea. The only issue (if at all) was the smell of drains in the reception and front bar area, it was very strong and not very welcoming, it did not make us want to eat or drink here. Though after a few nights we got used it this and the breakfast was amazing. I have only given 4/5 because of the smell and the fact our shower and screen on our room was broken (we forgot to mention this to reception).

Room Tip: Choose a Mountain view room for newer roomier rooms with a not so good view if you plan to party all...

This is a very basic hotel with clean rooms but in a fantastic location in Sitges, nothing more, nothing less. If the price is low what more can you expect? Staff are very friendly and welcoming! Hot water does seem to be an issue at this hotel, OK in August but in not in March, they really need to address this urgently!

Stayed in the Santa Maria for a week in Sitges and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located on the beautiful beech across the street and has a great restaurant outside and inside, which was packed each night. The rooms are basic but very clean and beds and linen spotless. It is a family run hotel and the owner was there to greet us on our arrival and gave us a box of chocolate on our departure. There are loads of restaurants near by and the old town is well worth exploring
