“Great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2012

We only stayed for one night however the hotel was perfect. Clean and comfortable. It is also located on the middle of Tarragona near everything. We paid almost nothing for 4 of us. We also took the breakfast for 20 euro, 5 each. Really enjoyed the coffee eggs and bacon. Fresh pastries and juice. Strongly suggest it!

Stayed here for what should have been 2 nights in April 2010....but..due to the volcanic ash cloud that shrouded european skies during that month we ended up staying a few extra nights.
Twin room we had was very clean and functional and more than met our needs...decent bathroom with reliable powerful shower.Breakfast was good selection of cold pastries/meats and cheeses with hot or cold drinks.
This hotels big plus is its location in the very centre of the great town of Tarragona..just a ten min walk from either the bus or train station. It stands just 100 metres from Tarragonas main Rambla Nova with its shops, bars and restaurants. This street leads to great views of the beach and ampitheatre area at its top end.It is also just 3 or 4 min walk from Placa de la Font, a very pleasant pedestrianised square (ish) with plenty of bars and eateries all of which are decently priced given the prime location.
The staff were tremendously helpful given the chaos caused by the ash cloud and when we checked out to go to Barcelona to find alternative travel home they were happy to give us a bath towel each as we hadnt brought our own and were going on to stay in a "toweless" hostel in the Catalonian capital!
We paid 55 euros per night for the room which was good value and is even better value now given the £s increased strength v the euro since back then. They were decent in that they didnt up the rate once the cloud had descended as many places in Barcelona did.
If there was any downside to this hotel it is that it is right next to the towns market and so it can get a tad noisy outside quite early...but if you take advantage of some of the very cheap very good wine on offer in the local bars it should act as an insurance policy against sleep interruption. The market is actually worth a visit...great little coffee stop in there where you can people watch the locals!

Room Tip: higher floors less noise...though the noise isnt a particular problem

The receptionist, although pleasant enough, was not terribly helpful. When I checked in she handed me the key without telling me where my room or the lift were and told me nothing about the hotel's facilities. I had to ask her for a town guide. The room was very small but clean as was the bathroom. Tarragona is a pleasant city with plenty of Roman ruins, good cafés, bars and restaurants. However, if I visit again I'll try somewhere other than the Urbis Centre

Hotel Urbis Center was one of the reasons why i enjoyed Tarragona,Spain so much.
The ambiance is beautiful and cozy there. The rooms were clean, cozy, and sweet smelling. It gives a European-feel to it, and made me feel like i didn't want to leave the city.
It is just 10 minutes away walk from Las Ramblas Vella, which is basically where the Historical Center is, and down at the end of the street from Las Ramblas Nova is the beach! Perfect for Tarragona's sunny days.
Breakfast was good, although it has a separate charge, but the quality of it was worth it.
Overall, i would recommend anybody to stay there, whether a solo traveller or a family.

Room Tip: The rooms towards the main street is a tiny bit noisy if you are a light sleeper. I didn't mind...

We loved it, our room was very reasonable, good breakfast. Front desk helped plan many adventures including a private wine tasting of Priorat wine somewhere in the hills. The market and Forum were on either side. The Rambla was a block away. We walked all over town, even old Town and all the ruins. The city is a hidden hotspot, so many ruins. The Aquaduct was amazing!

Clean and simple hotel that is centrally located in the new town. I think if I had to choose again I would want to stay across Rambla Nova in the old town because that's where all the sites were. This hotel, however, is much closer to the train station. (10 minute walk.) Definitely would recommend - nothing too stand out about this place but it is relatively cheap.

Stayed here for two, separate nights, either side of a walking trip to the Els Ports mountains. The hotel is right in the centre of Tarragona; so a good location yet I was not disturbed by any noise. My room was small and showed some minor signs of wear and tear on the decor, but it was clean and I thought it was fine for my purpose. I paid 48.75 euros each night, without breakfast, which cost 4.32 euros for the minimalist "express" version. The open-access PC in the reception area was very useful as I did not have my laptop with me. Tarragona was an interesting and pleasant city, but won't replace Cordoba and Granada in my affections.
