Nice and very big place (many rooms/guests), though no free internet connection in bedrooms -but lobby, nor parking included. By the way, both very expensives!
Gym is ok with a very nice terrace.
Value for money is ok.

The AC Tarragona is a good place to stay. Clean, stylish, well managed. Rooms are spacious and quiet, smartly designed. Pity there is no safe in the room. Minibar is not free anymore but that is a detail. I will certainly come back when in Tarragona

The AC Tarragona Hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is good and includes freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries and fruit. The staff are helpful and friendly. Pleasant understated decor and uncrowded breakfast room.
On the downside:
Fairly isolated - 30 minutes to beach and 25 minutes into old town.
Sheets weren't changed during 4 night booking (lots of grit from beach!) - apparantly they should be changed every second day!
No room safe
No in-room free internet
No late dinery (just room service)
No balconies..

Overall, a pleasant place to stay with quiet rooms overlooking a park at the rear. Great air-conditioning and comfortable beds in medium-sized rooms.Pleasant low bath and wooden-faced furniture, floors and corridors. There's a little-used roof garden which necessitates walking through the gym. So, if you don't mind the walk into town (there are local buses) and it's almost next to the coach station) - the AC Tarragona is a safe, quiet and pleasant place to be. Good value through online services (found to be cheaper than direct bookings).

Room Tip: Ask for room at rear overlooking the park.

A lovely, friendly hotel. Fabulous breakfast with something for everyone - freshly squeezed orange juice and tortilla every morning, freshly baked rolls and wonderful fresh fruit, melon particularly good.. We had a room at the back which overlooks the park, nice and quiet although i don't think the front would've been noisy at the time we stayed. Only negative point was that although we stayed for four nights and it is a four star hotel - the sheets weren't changed once!! This was very annoying as we'd been to the beach on a couple of days and ended up in a gritty bed!
Quite a long walk to the beach due to the railway being in the way - there's access at both ends of the town, though they're not signposted.
There's a terrace but no bar up there sadly - was deserted when we were there, in August, seems a missed opportunity.
No safe in the room.
Air con was very efficient, and welcome as it was low thirties for the duration of our stay.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights mid July 2013. Very central location for exploring Tarragona. Its just around 100m from the main roundabout which is the hub in the city. Everything goes out from there.
The hotel is spotless, and the service was good. Being Brits, we did expect a kettle in the room tho. Its right in the middle of the main new city, just a stroll from the shopping area. Saying that, there is no noise. A good continental breakfast is available.
Car parking is also available and costs 13 euro per day. Some other hotels charge 27 euro per day.
A 15 minute walk takes you to the old city. That is a must. One of the best places we have been. Could have spent another couple of days there. The same direction and time will take you to the beach. Its good, but parking can be difficult if you decide to go by car. Better beaches and quieter ones can be found about 20 minutes drive up the coast.
20 minute walk the other direction will take you to the Marina and fish restaurant end of the city.
5km from the hotel you will find the old Roman Viaduct. A magnificent build from the first century. Worth the drive out if you have a car.
Just a few metres from the main TGV train and bus station.
Back to the hotel, reception staff were friendly with good English.
There is also a roof terrace with a few table, chairs and sun beds. A gym and Sauna are also on the 8th floor. You can book the sauna for private occupation. Free wifi is available in the reception area or you can pay to have it in your room.
Overall we had an excellent stay and would go back again.
