We stayed here in April and were lucky to have beautiful spring weather. Good value and great location for a weekend in Tarragona. Staff friendly, but the lift is tiny. Having a fridge in the room is a plus, especially with a Carrefour just round the corner (C. Emparador August). although the "studio kitchen" idea needs a rethink. There was no kettle. The cooking hob is very capable of blowing fuses, and the oven looked downright dangerous. Little balcony overlooking the Rambla Nova, lovely. Loads of bars & restaurants nearby. (room 401). I would recommend the Forum restaurant on Placa de la Font for well cooked and presented Catalunyan food, with the menu of the day great value at at 13 euro.

I chose Alexandra Aparthotel because of the location and booked a studio with kitchen prepared to buy local food dinning in room. The reception is graceful but elevator was frightened me, I assume it was one separated into two, my husband and me with 2 small luggages just fit in, shaking and the engine seems very old. When I got in the room I was disappointed, it was so different from the reception, old and cheap furniture. No safe in room, we have to keep the i-pad and passport at the reception everyday by crossing and signing a paper for in and out, system made me feel not secure. EUR 124 for 2 nights is very expensive for such a room.
Be fair, around the old town, there are all little hotels at the old buildings with nice outlook, maybe also very basic inside, I didn't explore deeply. So do more research before booking.
Anyway, the staff was very friendly and helpful, don't be scared by me and stop visit Tarragona, you will enjoy the trip and forget all the unpleasure of the room.

Room Tip: front facing to the street will have market open once a week and holiday, can be noisy early in the...

We have just returned from 4 nights here & couldn't fault it.When I saw the situation right on the main road I expected to have problems with traffic noise but I was pleasantly surprise at how quiet it was.Everything was clean & comfortable for us but this is personal choiceThe location was ideal for accessing all the interesting facets of Tarragona plus the train & the bus station so we visited Barcelona & Salou vey easily. The staff were extremely helpful & we would certainly stay there again if we returned to Tarragona
One mistake we did make was not to go to the indoor food market until our last morning. If we had done this beforehand we could have selected our own picnic from a delicious assortment of goodies.

Room Tip: We had rooms 302&402 which both looked out over the Rambla Nova so there was always something to...

Great location, very clean and reasonably priced. Does supply an internet lead to connect to your laptop in your room. Wifi is only available downstairs at reception. The internet point wasnt working in our room so they changed us a studio that was a really nice size and well equiped even tho we didnt use the kitchen.

Beds very comfortable and plenty of hot water. We didnt have breakfast but was very cheap and we did look in the breakfast room one moring and there seemed to be great choice.

We left a jacket, t shirt and keys behind and reception were very helpful in getting them couried to our next hotel. Very short walk from train station. Would recommend.

Our group spent two nights here during our trip, and found its location to allow for rapid access to all the city had to offer. It offered a typical European breakfast of pastries, cold cuts and breads. Our group enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

This is what it has going for it - great location, free wifi and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and adequate. Now the minuses - thread-bare furnishings and carpetings with soft pillows. I always carry my own pillow so that didn't bother me but those with big shoulders will have problems with this item. It takes less than ten minutes on foot to get to the centre of the old town where one can shop and eat at countless restaurants. The Roman ruins are also about ten minutes walk away and at the end of the street, one gets a magnificent view of the Mediterranean.

The good points are that it was a very clean hotel, centrally located and had helpful reception staff. The bad points are that the beds were exceptionally hard, one pillow each was provided, the view from the windows at the back was dreadful, the hotel was very noisy with slamming doors at 4.00am (soft close doors needed?), mouldy tiles and shower curtain and a very smelly drain in the bathroom that we were told was normal! We were reduced to buying air freshener and that did not really help. A great shame because Tarragona is well worth a visit and the hotel is in a very good location.
