We stayed at the GH hotel for 5 nights in May, 2009. We were there for work with the university, and it was a good location. It is only about a 15 minute walk to the old town, and an enjoyable walk. We were warmly greeted by staff at the front desk, and our room was lovely - very clean. The breakfasts were excellent with lots of fresh cut fruits.

The only exception with this hotel is when there are groups there - for 3 of the 5 nights we were there, there were large groups which would make a 10-20 minute wait at the elevator. We ended up using the stairs half the time (we were on the 5th floor). Plus, they had faulty keys, and at least twice a day we had to have our room door re-keyed - which was not altogether convenient when you had to wait to long for the elevators/use the stairs. The other down side when there were large groups is that they stopped using fresh fruit and only had canned fruit, which was not good. The staff in the dining rooms for breakfast and dinner worked so hard, and many of them were very kind.

The hotel offers gym passes for 5 Euros to a gym about 200 yards from the hotel - it's excellent! We went a couple of times, and the gym was wonderful - it has about 20 treadmills and many other cardio machines. overall, it was a nice stay.

This is a new hotel situated about 20 minutes walk from the old centre of Santiago. Essentially a business hotel, it also takes small tour groups. Modern with excellent facilities, we had a lovely room with a huge bed and magnificent tiled bathroom. White fluffy towels and a choice of 6 differing styles of pillows was available, although the ones we had were fine.

Breakfast was acceptable though fresh fruit frather than tinned would have been nicer.

It is a 20 mins walk slightly uphill into the centre, easy and safe walk though. Others in our party took a bus and or taxi (inexpensive).
