“Perfect location”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

We had the treat to stay here for 2 nights, while we explored the beautiful city of Santiago. This small hotel is in the old town, so the location is jut perfect. We normally like to stay at very small B&B's / hotels..this was a little bigger than we normally like but it was just perfect for our stay.

Our room was awesome! We had a corner room, on the 3rd floor. There is a cute little indoor balcony, with 2 chairs and a table...with great big windows that open up. We were nestled right next to a beautiful church, and very cool buildings. It felt like we were a part of the city, right in the thick of everything.

We really enjoyed our stay here - the staff is very friendly and nice. Santiago is really a wonderful town to explore..and it has such a good vibe with all of the Camino trekkers. We took the bus from Porto to get here, it was about 3 hours and it was easy. Booking as a little hard, as they told us they don't have an English version of their website, but we emailed back and forth and reserved the room w/o issues.

Room Tip: Corner room with the indoor balcony (big windows open up) was fantastic.

What a great location for this wonderful hotel. It is in the perfect location in the old town near the cathedral, restaurants and museums and churches. Stayed here for 5 nights the end of September our room was spacious and clean with a good size bathroom. Towels were changed everyday and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was great value. We booked a standard room but when I return (which I intend to) I will go for a superior room as I missed having a window to look out on the wet days. If I was guaranteed sunshine I would definitely book the standard room as there was a big velux window which could be opened and had a lovely view of the square. We were unfortunate with the weather as it rained most of the time (not the hotels fault), This hotel is 3 star but it is much better than a lot of 4 star hotels I will be returning to this wonderful hotel.

Fantastic hotel and much more than we expected. This place is more like a 4 star. We had a room on the top floor which was like a loft and very comfortable including the bed. Public parking was only a five minute walk away and about $10 euro a night.
The only negatives would be that the walls are thin and the WIFI is slow. Also on the plus side they allow you to use their laptop in the comfort of your own room.
Would stay here again.

This is a beautiful building in a perfect location. While it certainly deserves more than its three star status there were a couple glaring ommissions which stopped me rating it as excellent.
Pluses: couldn't be better placed for the old city but still quiet and peaceful
Stunningly beautiful to look at, both inside, outside and from the windows
Immaculately clean and comfortable rooms
Minuses: There was no information in the rooms about the hotel or its services
The bar is a corner of reception with no tables and just a few stools. Not a sociable space at all and only sporadically manned.
I had been really looking forward to relaxing on the beautiful terrace, but it's actually a restaurant and I felt quite uncomfortable using it without buying food and drink. It was also very heavily booked in the evening, so couldn't use it then.
There's no lounge area, so nowhere to even just sit and people watch.
Staff were helpful if approached, but not the most welcoming...
So would I go back? Probably yes, but it wasn't perhaps the best choice for a novice solo traveler! And a warning for couples. My room had a large glass panel between the bathroom and the bedroom, so every time the toilet is used at night, the whole room is flooded with light. Fine for me on my own, but I wouldn't want to be the one trying to sleep if I was sharing with someone who'd overdone the wine!

Room Tip: Try to find one that doesn't have a glass panel between it and the bathroom!

We enjoyed our stay of 4 nights in this hotel the reception staff were very friendly, they spoke English very well. The room was very clean and the towels changed daily. The continental breakfasts were very good. We never ate in the restaurant so cannot comment on the food, the restaurant is closed on Sunday night and Monday. The noise in the street went on till the early hours, that can only be expected in this central position. We would definitely stay at this hotel if we ever go to Santiago De Compostela In the future,

Spent 2 wonderful nights in this charming hotel, beautiful room with gorgeous views of an ancient square. Just outside our room a roof of a church covered in flowers with lots of butterflies hovering around...bliss, lovely terraces, fab food, everything about it is wonderful. The staff are very helpful..couldn't praise it enough...and good value for money.

the location is perfect, Santiago is a very small city and from here everything is extremely near. the room is clean and simply beautiful maybe a little bit too small. the rooms with the bow windows on the square San Miguel are very romantic.
