“A suggestion: Pulpo a la brasa!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2013

We ordered 3 starters to share more a dessert. The grilled octopus and mushrooms were for first category but the scallops were a small dish for quantity. Excellent service with great customer care with good wine tasting. The place is nicely furnished, pity by an excessive volume of the music. Quality/price ratio has to be improved.

“great service, excellent Pulpo, annoying music”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2013

We reserved a table trough a link on tripadviser, since we were not sure the reservation came trough we went to had a look at the restaurant 1 hour before our reservation. Since the reservation was in order, we asked for a place where we could go for an appetizer, they told us about ¨café pepe¨ around the corner which was great!
The service at o currra da parra was really good, they had a special o the day with a fish we did not know and the showed us on the ipad how it was called in different languages, cool touch!
We got a free appetizer to start wit, then we had the Carpaccio de Zamburi, a disappointing dish since it was a very small portion and nothing really special. After that we had Pulpo, the octopus was cooked perfectly and it was served with yucca chips and mojo verde. After that we had the day special which was boletus with foie, a great choice! We finished with a cheesecake which did not look like a cake, but was really delicious.
The thing I personally did not like was the music, it was traditional Galician music that was too loud, I asked if they could lower the sound and they did but it was still annoying to me..

I am sure that with a next visit to Santiago I will come back to this restaurant.

“Definitely deserves it's No. 1 status”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2013

Wonderful restaurant, best meal we had on this trip to Spain. Small, cosy and great attentive service. The steak was cooked to perfection and the ham and cheese croquettes to start were also the best we had on this trip. Go there if you are in Santiago.

“Very good but not outstanding”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013 via mobile

I will start with the bottom line: a truly good restaurant worthwile walking there in a rainy day and (as my wife and I did) waiting for more than an hour in a nearby cafe for the restaurant to open,
The place is rather small and cosy, service friendly and impecable. We ordered for starters brailed octopus that was superb and the croquetes that where very good. A glass of white wine suggested by the waiter complimented perfectly the dishes. We where offered gratis by a very tasty crema de porro (a thick vegetable soup) and one of the best olive oils I ever tasted. The merluza for main was very good although it was so natural cooked that lacked even salt. The entrecote was dissapointing, the meat being more a "bife angosto" than a truly entrecote cut (it lacked the fatty tissue that makes the entrecote what it is meant to be). The potato had been overboiled and tasted "old" and the sauce wasn't "interesting" enough to dip the meat in it. This is a very nice place but keep in mind that the menu is very limited and the portions on the frugal side.

“What can we add - a great restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2013

We went here with our small Intrepid Tour Group and had a room to ourselves upstairs. The service could not be faulted, nor could the food. And the company was great too. While we love eating traditional local food when we travel, we also love to see what local innovative chefs do. We'd go back there in a flash.
