Stayed in Hotel Axis for 4 nights, we were a party of 3 couples, one couple staying at a different hotel due to booking at different times. I cannot fault this hotel, even when our friends came to visit they were happy to answer there questions and happy for them to sit up at the pool. The hotel is very clean, rooms were cleaned every day. Hotel staff were very friendly and there if you needed help with anything, especially Borja who worked on the front desk, he was always smiling and asking if everything was ok with our stay. We would ask for an ice bucket as our fridge in our room wasn't the coldest and each day it was never a problem. The gym was big and had everything.
There is a cafe right opposite the hotel which was very cheap for food and drink, a sandwich/toastie/burger was less than €5. For wine it was very cheap €1.30 for a glass. Less than €2 for a beer.
You are about 5 minutes to the Old town for food and drink and the shops. Then 10 minute to the harbour.
We went to Samil beach which is 30 minutes on a bus (bus fare €1.33 each way) the beach is beautiful and they have swimming pools, only a few cafes to eat from but again very reasonable priced.
Overall I would highly recommend Hotel Axis, it was very well priced and great location.

The hotel was lovely, we got two rooms overlooking the bay, the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Even though it was October we managed to get a dip in the pool and burnt! The pool wasn't massive but perfectly fine for a dip. The amazing views made the whole trip. We loved Vigo!

Room Tip: Best Views from the top floors

The hotel room is beautiful. The gym is fantastic. The pool is on the rooftop (it was freezing) with a full view of Vigo harbour. I stayed an extra night because of it. Great value. Strongly recommended for Vigo

This hotel is very well located. Easily accessed from the airport bus which was a very cheap 1.30 euro. Hotel is 5 minutes walk into downtown Vigo and ten minutes from the harbour. It is only a minute from several good cafe bars all of which are very reasonable. Staff are all friendly and helpful especially Alberto on reception who went into great detail giving us directions and suggestions. The room was good though I don't like the open aspect from the bathroom which does not afford enough privacy. The outdoor pool is only a plunge pool. We enjoyed a drink or two in the bar which was very well priced as was the room mini bar. Well worth a stay if you plan to visit Vigo

Our first impression of this hotel was generally favorable though it's location is not good. It is a long way from the seafront, marina and shopping and half way up a long and steep hill. However, it is pleasant, the staff are helpful, the rooms are good and the air con works. There are several nice lounges,a computer area and best of all a small swimming pool on the roof, free wifi.and a bar, The breakfasts however, are appalling! When we arrived on the first morning there was not one clean table despite there being only four people in there, We had to clear a table ourselves even to be able to sit down. There was no crockery or cutlery. There was no water available, very little fresh fruit and the bacon and egg dishes were as empty when we left as they were when we arrived. Not very good! There was just one poor waitress on duty trying to do everything and while she was pleasant and helpful was obviously incapable of restocking food and drinks while also trying to clear and reset tables.
Our second breakfast was even worse than the first! The same dirty and unmade tables were still there to greet us but this time there was hardly any food either. The egg and bacon containers had vanished completely, there was hardly any fruit, ham and cheese, no bread, no juice, not even bowls to use for cereal - it was atrocious!
This time I complained to the reception manager and asked him to come and see for himself. He did, and soon a few more waiters tried to put things right but with little success. Because we complained they did bring us some scrambled egg and bacon but it was disgusting, under-cooked and runny egg and I could not honestly tell you what animal the 'bacon' had come from. It tasted more boiled than fried and we both left it. We are leaving tomorrow and will not bother with breakfast but I feel when one is charged for breakfast it really should be provided. Particularly in a four star hotel which states that it's 'only aim is the satisfaction of it's customers'. Such a pity - it could be so much better.

Room Tip: Try a different hotel.
