We have again visited Gibraltar and the Main Street is still bustling with shoppers of many nationalities. The prices for food are a little on the high side but there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Cigarettes and liquor are very cheap but beware of the perfumes etc as they can be bought as cheap in the UK. If you are going to Gibraltar there is a cafe in the same building as the Methodist Chapel again on Main Street. The food is very good and cheaper with a very warm welcome. The Carpenters Arms is the name and you will find it about 15 yards on the left after the Government buildings with the canons outside. Whilst we were there there was no problems crossing the borders.

Just one main street but you can buy just about anything there. With an added bonus. You can relax in any one of a number of bars and have lunch. The tuna and sword fish were good.

If every small town had a high street like this, we might all be a bit happier (even without the sun). OK, the shops are not especially exciting: some are repeats of the same tourist tat; and some are familiar UK names; but most of what you want is available here and some of the prices are brilliant (watch out - it's not all cheap!). The best thing is the lack of traffic.

if your life is dominated by the urge to smoke and drink spirits then you will be in heaven.
Probably as cheap as anywhere and loads of choice. Good malts and better class vodka, oh and an interesting array of gins.
As for the rest, we'll the cosmetics are nothing special price wise, and I was done with an out of date and quite expensive deoderant. Check out the fish and chips first because the so called"English" fish and chips I was pulled into have at a cafe in Casemates Square (at the bottom of Main Street) was an unimpresive square of frozen fish just warmed up, and the frozen chips were not even warmed up. check that they serve properly battered pieces not exactly oblong .

Great shopping place. Nearly had a coughing fit when i saw the price of the fags.Elsewhere there are some very nice leather goods to be had at very reasonable prices. There are some very nice little cafes and some traditional english type pubs, interspersed with one or two very nice restaurants. It also leads into Casemates square (depending on which end you start from). A must if you visit Gib,but there again if you go for a walk then you can't miss it.
