Gibraltar Sightseeing Day Trip from Costa del Sol

For those who love animals or in particular, apes/monkeys, you will not want to miss this place.

You will be able to see these animals roaming around, some can come close to you. Some are big while others carrying their little "babies" jumping around or sitting still on the fence/rock. Fear not, they are generally tame and will not disturb you if you do not "provoke" them with actions or feed them (as advised by the guide). They will "leave you alone" and carrying on in their activities. Actually they are quite cute and lovely!

You can easily see them all over the places as told by the guide, there are around hundreds of them on the island. It's quite interesting to see them so near and all of the sudden as if you are in the "apes world"!

Take the cable car for the views. See the apes, but stay clear as they are wild animals and have teeth and claws: do not feed as experts ensure they have a correct diet.

This is a must see when visiting the Rock as it is one of the more famous aspects of the island. It's also a good photo opportunity but be careful as the apes, while cute, can be dangerous and aggressive. They have been known to bite and scratch and often work in pairs to grab food, sunglasses or loose hanging articles. And they are quick so you are more likely not to recover these items.

We saw roughly the same number of apes while visiting the Den, as we did at the top of the Rock. So we were pretty bored with it. I would skip it, if you are walking back down from the Cable Car, or on a tour. Get more time in St. Michaels Cave's or at the Top of the Rock.

A quick stop to see the apes on the Gibraltar Taxi Tour. Some of them are a bit over friendly and intimidating. My 4 year old daughter was terrified and my 3 year old son was chasing them round trying to pic one up! Be careful with food as they will try to snatch it and watch out for the poo- it was everywhere!
